3 Adão e Eva 17

1Naquela mesma noite o anjo do Senhor veio ter com Melquisedeque enquanto repousava no seu leito.

1Then the angel of God came unto Melchizedec that night while Melchizedec was lying in bed.

2Apareceu-lhe sob a figura de um jovem formoso, tocou-lhe no lado e despertou-o do sono.

2And he appeared unto him in the figure of a youth like him, who smote him on the side, and awoke him out of his sleep.

3Ao acordar, Melquisedeque levantou-se e viu o aposento resplandecente de luz e uma figura celestial à sua frente.

3When Melchizedec heard it, he stood up, and saw the house full of light, and a figure standing there.

4Temeu em extremo, por não estar acostumado a visões de anjos.

4And he was afraid, for he was not accustomed to see angels, since he never had.

5Contudo o anjo confortou-o, ungindo-lhe a cabeça e o peito, pois Melquisedeque era mancebo de coração íntegro, e disse-lhe:

5Yet the angel prevented fear from overcoming him, and anointed him on the head and on the breast, for Melchizedec was a youth of a perfect heart. and said unto him,

6Não temas, sou um anjo do Senhor enviado com esta mensagem para que a cumpras diante de Deus.

6"Fear not, I am an angel of God; and He has sent me to thee with this message, that thou fulfil it unto God."

7Perguntou Melquisedeque: Que mensagem é essa, meu Senhor?

7Melchizedec then said unto him, "What is that message?"

8Respondeu o anjo: Deves partir com o corpo de nosso pai Adão rumo ao centro da terra, onde ministrarás como sacerdote diante dele;

8And the angel said unto him, "It is that thou travel with the body of our father Adam, unto the middle of the earth; and that thou stand ministering before it there;

9e servirás a Deus perpetuamente, pois Ele te escolheu desde a infância como semente abençoada.

9and that thou serve God; for He has chosen thee from thy childhood, for thou art of the seed of the blessed."

10Disse Melquisedeque: Quem transportará o corpo de nosso pai Adão e a mim até ao centro da terra?

10Then Melchizedec said unto him, "Who will bring the body of my father Adam, and me with it, unto the middle of the earth?"

11Respondeu o anjo: Sem, filho de Noé, avô do teu pai.

11And the angel said unto him, "Shem, the son of Noah, thy father's grandfather."

12O anjo confortou-lhe o coração e consolou-o ternamente, dizendo-lhe:

12Then the angel strengthened his heart, and comforted him tenderly, and said unto him,

13Guarda em segredo estas palavras e fala somente a Sem, para que o rumor não se espalhe,

13"Commit not these hidden words to any except to Shem only; lest the report of it spread abroad;

14evitando que retenham o corpo de Adão e impeçam a sua trasladação para o lugar ordenado por Deus.

14and they hang on to the body of Adam, and not let it go to the land, to which God has commanded it to be taken.

15E o anjo retirou-se dele.

15And the angel departed from him.
