3 Adão e Eva 15

1Tendo Noé terminado de dar instruções a seu filho Sem acerca do corpo de nosso pai Adão, disse-lhe:

1Then when Noah had ended giving orders to his son Shem, concerning the body of our father Adam, Noah said to his son Shem,

2Traze-me aqui os teus irmãos e faze-os aproximar-se de mim.

2"Bring hither to me thy brothers, and make them come near me."

3Achegando-se eles, Noé olhou-os e disse: Ó meus filhos, após a minha morte vos separareis, e pesadas aflições sobrevirão à vossa posteridade.

3Then when they came to Noah, he looked at them and said unto them, "O my sons, after my death ye shall part asunder, and sore troubles shall happen to your race.

4Pelo que dividirei desde já a terra entre vós em três porções, para que cada qual se estabeleça na sua herança.

4"Yet I will from now, divide among you the earth into three portions; as every one of you shall be settled in his own portion.

5A Sem, meu primogênito, caberá a porção desde Jerusalém, que é grande cidade, até Cardaium e Andica, nas terras da Báctria e da Índia.

5Unto Shem my first-born son, shall his lot be from Jerusalem which is a great city, as far as Qardayun and Andika. (Bactriana and India)

6Abrangerá a cordilheira limítrofe até Gefnr, entre a terra do Egito e a dos filisteus.

6It takes in the border mountain that reaches unto Gefnr, between the land of Egypt and that of the Philistines.

7A Cão caberá a porção desde Aris para o sul, estendendo-se até Fardundam, Gadurium e os limites do ocidente.

7Unto my next son Ham, his portion shall be from Aris towards the south, unto Fardundan and unto Gaduriun, and unto the borders of the west.

8E a Jafé caberá a porção desde o recanto ocidental para o sul até Damata, vasta região, com todo o norte até confinar com Aris.

8And unto my third son Japhet, his portion shall be from the corner of the west towards the south unto Damatha, a large tract of country; and all the north also as far as Aris."

9Disse-lhes então: Tome cada um de vós uma porção distinta de seus irmãos, e habite cada qual nos seus próprios limites.

9He then said to them, "Let every one of you take a portion different from that of his brothers; and let every one of you dwell in his own portion."

10E assentaram-se nela, conforme lhes fora ordenado.

10And they settled in it, as he commanded them.

11Todos eles geraram filhos e filhas durante a vida de seu pai Noé.

11And they all had sons and daughters during their father Noah's lifetime.

12E Noé repartiu a terra entre eles por ordem de Deus, para que não houvesse contenda entre os três irmãos.

12And Noah divided the earth among them by God's order, in order that there should be no enmity between the three brothers.

13Concluídas as suas determinações a Sem e aos demais filhos, caíram-lhe as mãos, a língua emudeceu, os olhos cerraram-se e ele expirou, a exemplo de seus pais.

13Then when Noah had ended his commandments to Shem and to his brothers, his hands dropped, his tongue became dumb, his eyes closed and he died, like his fathers.

14Morreu com a idade de novecentos e cinquenta anos, numa quarta-feira, aos dois dias do mês de Gembot, na montanha onde repousava a arca; e ali permanecerá até o dia em que Deus manifestar o seu sepulcro.

14He died aged 950 years, on a Wednesday, the 2nd day of the month Gembot, on the mountain on the which was the ark; and there he will remain until the day God reveals his resting-place .

15E prantearam por ele durante quarenta dias.

15And they mourned for him 40 days.
