3 Adão e Eva 12

1E Deus aspirou o suave odor das ofertas de Noé e estabeleceu com ele uma aliança, de que as águas do dilúvio não mais tornariam a assolar a terra, doravante e para sempre.

1And God smelled the smell of Noah's offerings, and He made a covenant with him, that the waters of the flood should not again come upon the earth, henceforth and for ever.

2E esta é a aliança que Deus firmou com Noé.

2And this is the covenant God made with Noah.

3Disse Deus a Noé: Porei o arco da Minha aliança nas nuvens; e quando ele aparecer, saberão os homens que isso foi feito em verdade.

3God said unto Noah, " I will make the bow of My covenant come out in the cloud; and when it appears, then men shall know that it is done in truth.

4E se Eu Me irar, ao surgir o arco nas nuvens, manifestar-se-á que a Minha ira e a punição que pretendia infligir aos homens cessaram.

4And if I was wroth, when the bow was seen in the cloud, then it would show that My anger and the punishment I meant to bring upon men were over.

5Ademais, ó Noé, fiz com que este arco da Minha aliança seja contemplado nos céus,

5Then, again, O Noah, I have made this bow of My covenant to be seen in heaven,

6para que todas as criaturas o vejam, lembrem-se das aflições que sobrevieram no princípio, e se arrependam de seus maus caminhos.

6in order that all creatures should see it, and think of the trials and afflictions that came upon them at first, and repent, and turn from their evil ways."

7E Deus aceitou a oferta de Noé, e abençoou a ele e a seus filhos, dizendo-lhes:

7And God accepted Noah's offering, and blessed him and his sons, and said unto them,

8Frutificai, multiplicai-vos e enchei a face da terra.

8"Be fruitful and multiply, apd replenish the face of the earth."

9Ordenou então Deus à terra que produzisse ervas como dantes, para mantimento das feras, das aves e de tudo o que se move sobre o solo.

9Then God commanded the earth to bring forth herb as it did of old, for wild beasts, for birds, and for all that moves on the earth.

10Prostrou-se então Noé perante Deus com seus filhos e as esposas deles, e louvaram-No pela grandiosa salvação que operara em seu favor.

10Then Noah worshipped before God, with his sons and their wives; and they praised Him for the salvation He had wrought for them.
