2 Adão e Eva 4

1Então Deus ordenou que Satanás se mostrasse claramente a Adão, em sua própria forma hedionda.

1Then God ordered Satan to show himself to Adam plainly, in his own hideous form.

2Mas quando Adão o viu, ele temeu e tremeu ao vê-lo.

2But when Adam saw him, he feared, and trembled at the sight of him.

3E Deus disse a Adão: 'Olhe para este demônio, e para seu olhar hediondo, e saiba que foi ele quem te fez cair do brilho para a escuridão, da paz e do descanso para o trabalho e a miséria.

3And God said to Adam, 'Look at this devil, and at his hideous look, and know that he it is who made thee fall from brightness into darkness, from peace and rest to toil and misery.

4E olhe, ó Adão, para aquele que disse de si mesmo que é Deus! Deus pode ser negro? Deus assumiria a forma de uma mulher? Existe alguém mais forte que Deus? E Ele pode ser dominado?

4And look, 0 Adam, at him, who said of himself that he is God! Can God be black? Would God take the form of a woman? Is there any one stronger than God? And can He be overpowered?

5"Veja, então, ó Adão, e veja-o amarrado em sua presença, no ar, incapaz de fugir! Portanto, eu te digo: não tenha medo dele; doravante, tome cuidado e tome cuidado com ele, em tudo o que ele possa fazer a você."

5"See, then, 0 Adam, and behold him bound in thy presence, in the air, unable to flee away! Therefore, I say unto thee, be not afraid of him; henceforth take care, and beware of him, in whatever he may do to thee."

6Então Deus expulsou Satanás de diante de Adão, a quem Ele fortaleceu e cujo coração Ele confortou, dizendo-lhe: "Desce à Caverna dos Tesouros e não te separes de Eva; eu reprimirei em ti toda a luxúria animal."

6Then God drove Satan away from before Adam, whom He strengthened, and whose heart He comforted, saying to him, "Go down to the Cave of Treasures, and separate not thyself from Eve; I will quell in you all animal lust."

7A partir daquela hora deixou Adão e Eva, e eles desfrutaram de descanso pelo mandamento de Deus. Mas Deus não fez o mesmo com nenhum dos descendentes de Adão; mas apenas para Adão e Eva.

7From that hour it left Adam and Eve, and they enjoyed rest by the commandment of God. But God did not the like to any one of Adam's seed; but only to Adam and Eve.

8Então Adão adorou diante do Senhor, por tê-lo libertado e por ter abandonado suas paixões. E ele desceu de cima da caverna e habitou com Eva como antes.

8Then Adam worshipped before the Lord, for having delivered him, and for having layed his passions. And he came down from above the cave, and dwelt with Eve as aforetime.

9Isto encerrou os quarenta dias de sua separação de Eva.

9This ended the forty days of his separation from Eve.
