1Então Deus lhe revelou novamente a promessa que havia feito a Adão; Ele explicou-lhe os 5.500 anos e revelou-lhe o mistério de Sua vinda à terra.

1Then God revealed to him again the promise He had made to Adam; He explained to him the 5500 years, and revealed unto him the mystery of His coming upon the earth.

2E Deus disse a Jarede: “Quanto ao fogo que você tirou do altar para acender a lâmpada, deixe-o permanecer com você para dar luz aos corpos; e não deixe que ele saia da caverna, até que o corpo de Adão saia dela.

2And God said to Jared, "As to that fire which thou hast taken from the altar to light the lamp withal, let it abide with you to give light to the bodies; and let it not come out of the cave, until the body of Adam comes out of it.

3Mas, ó Jared, cuide do fogo, para que ele brilhe intensamente na lâmpada; nem saia novamente da caverna até receber uma ordem por meio de uma visão, e não de uma aparição, quando visto por você.

3But, 0 Jared, take care of the fire, that it burn bright in the lamp; neither go thou again out of the cave until thou receivest an order through a vision, and not in an apparition, when seen by thee.

4"Então ordena novamente ao teu povo que não tenha relações sexuais com os filhos de Caim, e não aprenda seus caminhos; pois eu sou Deus que não ama o ódio e as obras de iniqüidade."

4"Then command again thy people not to hold intercourse with the children of Cain, and not to learn their ways; for I am God who loves not hatred and works of iniquity."

5Deus também deu muitos outros mandamentos a Jarede e o abençoou. E então retirou Sua Palavra dele.

5God gave also many other commandments to Jared, and blessed him. And then withdrew His Word from him.

6Então Jarede se aproximou com seus filhos, pegou fogo, desceu à caverna e acendeu a lamparina diante do corpo de Adão; e ele deu mandamentos ao seu povo como Deus lhe havia dito para fazer.

6Then Jared drew near with his children, took some fire, and came down to the cave, and lighted the lamp before the body of Adam; and he gave his people commandments as God had told him to do.

7Este sinal aconteceu com Jarede no final de seus quatrocentos e cinquenta anos; assim como muitas outras maravilhas, não registramos. Mas registramos apenas este por uma questão de brevidade e para não prolongar nossa narrativa.

7This sign happened to Jared at the end of his four hundred and fiftieth year; as did also many other wonders, we do not record. But we record only this one for shortness sake, and in order not to lengthen our narrative.

8E Jared continuou a ensinar seus filhos por oitenta anos; mas depois disso eles começaram a transgredir os mandamentos que ele lhes havia dado e a fazer muitas coisas sem seu conselho. Eles começaram a descer da Montanha Sagrada, um após o outro, e a se misturar com os filhos de Caim, em sociedades obscenas.

8And Jared continued to teach his children eighty years; but after that they began to transgress the commandments he had given them, and to do many things without his counsel. They began to go down from the Holy Mountain one after another, and to mix with the children of Cain, in foul fellowships.

9Agora, a razão pela qual os filhos de Jarede desceram a Montanha Sagrada é esta, que agora iremos revelar a vocês.

9Now the reason for which the children of Jared went down the Holy Mountain, is this, that we will now reveal unto you.
