1Após a morte de Enos, Cainan permaneceu à frente de seu povo em retidão e inocência, como seu pai lhe havia ordenado; ele também continuou a ministrar diante do corpo de Adão, dentro da Caverna dos Tesouros.

1After the death of Enos, Cainan stood at the head of his people in righteousness and innocence, as his father had commanded him; he also continued to minister before the body of Adam, inside the Cave of Treasures.

2Então, quando ele viveu novecentos e dez anos, o sofrimento e a aflição vieram sobre ele. E quando ele estava prestes a entrar no descanso, todos os pais com suas esposas e filhos vieram até ele, e ele os abençoou, e os conjurou pelo sangue de Abel, o justo, dizendo-lhes: "Que nenhum de vocês desça desta Montanha Sagrada; e não faça amizade com os filhos de Caim, o assassino."

2Then when he had lived nine hundred and ten years, suffering and affliction came upon him. And when he was about to enter into rest, all the fathers with their wives and children came to him, and he blessed them, and adjured them by the blood of Abel, the just, saying to them, "Let not one among you go down from this Holy Mountain; and make no fellowship with the children of Cain the murderer."

3Malaleel, seu filho primogênito, recebeu este mandamento de seu pai, que o abençoou e morreu.

3Mahalaleel, his first-born son, received this commandment from his father, who blessed him and died.

4Então Malaleel o embalsamou com especiarias doces e o depositou na Caverna dos Tesouros, com seus pais; e fizeram-lhe ofertas, segundo o costume de seus pais.
