2 Adão e Eva 11

1Após a morte de Adão e Eva, Sete separou seus filhos, e os filhos de seus filhos, dos filhos de Caim. Caim e sua semente desceram e habitaram no oeste, abaixo do local onde ele havia matado seu irmão Abel.

1After the death of Adam and of Eve, Seth severed his children, and his children's children, from Cain's children. Cain and his seed went down and dwelt westward, below the place where he had killed his brother Abel.

2Mas Seth e seus filhos habitaram ao norte, na montanha da Caverna dos Tesouros, para estarem perto de seu pai, Adão.

2But Seth and his children, dwelt northwards upon the mountain of the Cave of Treasures, in order to be near to their father Adam.

3E Seth, o mais velho, alto e bom, com uma alma excelente e uma mente forte, estava à frente de seu povo; e cuidou deles com inocência, penitência e mansidão, e não permitiu que nenhum deles fosse até os filhos de Caim.

3And Seth the elder, tall and good, with a fine soul, and of a strong mind, stood at the head of his people; and tended them in innocence, penitence, and meekness, and did not allow one of them to go down to Cain's children.

4Mas por causa de sua própria pureza, eles foram chamados de “Filhos de Deus” e estavam com Deus, em vez das hostes de anjos que caíram; pois eles continuaram a louvar a Deus e a cantar salmos a Ele, em sua caverna - a Caverna dos Tesouros.

4But because of their own purity, they were named "Children of God," and they were with God, instead of the hosts of angels who fell; for they continued in praises to God, and in singing psalms unto Him, in their cave - the Cave of Treasures.

5Então Seth ficou diante do corpo de seu pai Adão e de sua mãe Eva, e orou noite e dia, e pediu misericórdia para si e para seus filhos; e que quando ele tivesse dificuldade em lidar com uma criança, Ele lhe daria conselhos.

5Then Seth stood before the body of his father Adam, and of his mother Eve, and prayed night and day, and asked for mercy towards himself and his children; and that when he had some difficult dealing with a child, He would give him counsel.

6Mas Seth e seus filhos não gostaram do trabalho terreno, mas entregaram-se às coisas celestiais; pois eles não tinham outro pensamento senão louvores, doxologias e salmos a Deus.

6But Seth and his children did not like earthly work, but gave themselves to heavenly things; for they had no other thought than praises, doxologies, and psalms unto God.

7Por isso ouviam sempre as vozes dos anjos, louvando e glorificando a Deus; de dentro do jardim, ou quando foram enviados por Deus em uma missão, ou quando estavam subindo para o céu.

7Therefore did they at all times hear the voices of angels, praising and glorifying God; from within the garden, or when they were sent by God on an errand, or when they were going up to heaven.

8Pois Seth e seus filhos, por causa de sua própria pureza, ouviram e viram aqueles anjos. Então, novamente, o jardim não estava muito acima deles, mas apenas uns quinze côvados espirituais.

8For Seth and his children, by reason of their own purity, heard and saw those angels. Then, again, the garden was not far above them, but only some fifteen spiritual cubits.

9Agora, um côvado espiritual corresponde a três côvados de homem, ao todo quarenta e cinco côvados.

9Now one spiritual cubit answers to three cubits of man, altogether forty-five cubits.

10Seth e seus filhos moravam na montanha abaixo do jardim; não semearam, nem colheram; eles não produziram alimento para o corpo, nem mesmo trigo; mas apenas ofertas. Comiam dos frutos e das árvores saborosas que cresciam na montanha onde moravam.

10Seth and his children dwelt on the mountain below the garden; they sowed not, neither did they reap; they wrought no food for the body, not even wheat; but only offerings. They ate of the fruit and of trees well flavoured that grew on the mountain where they dwelt.

11Então Sete jejuava frequentemente a cada quarenta dias, assim como seus filhos mais velhos. Pois a família de Seth sentia o cheiro das árvores do jardim, quando o vento soprava naquela direção.

11Then Seth often fasted every forty days, as did also his eldest children. For the family of Seth smelled the smell of the trees in the garden, when the wind blew that way.

12Eles eram felizes, inocentes, sem medo repentino, não havia ciúmes, nem ações malignas, nem ódio entre eles. Não havia paixão animal; de nenhuma boca entre eles saíram palavras obscenas ou maldições; nem maus conselhos nem fraude. Pois os homens daquela época nunca juravam, mas em circunstâncias difíceis, quando os homens deviam jurar, juravam pelo sangue de Abel, o justo.

12They were happy, innocent, without sudden fear, there was no jealousy, no evil action, no hatred among them. There was no animal passion; from no mouth among them went forth either foul words or curse; neither evil counsel nor fraud. For the men of that time never swore, but under hard circumstances, when men must swear, they swore by the blood of Abel the just.

13Mas eles obrigavam seus filhos e suas mulheres todos os dias na caverna a jejuar e orar, e a adorar o Deus Altíssimo. Eles se abençoaram no corpo de seu pai Adão e se ungiram com ele.

13But they constrained their children and their women every day in the cave to fast and pray, and to worship the most High God. They blessed themselves in the body of their father Adam, and anointed themselves with it.

14E eles fizeram isso até que o fim de Seth se aproximasse.

14And they did so until the end of Seth drew near.
