2 Adão e Eva 1

1Quando Luluwa ouviu as palavras de Caim, ela chorou e foi chamar seu pai e sua mãe, e contou-lhes como Caim havia matado seu irmão Abel.

1When Luluwa heard Cain's words, she wept and went to call her father and mother, and told them how that Cain had killed his brother Abel.

2Então todos eles gritaram em alta voz e levantaram suas vozes, e bateram em seus rostos, e jogaram poeira sobre suas cabeças, e rasgaram suas vestes, e saíram e foram ao lugar onde Abel foi morto.

2Then they all cried aloud and lifted up their voices, and slapped their faces, and threw dust upon their heads, and rent asunder their garments, and went out and came to the place where Abel was killed.

3E acharam-no caído por terra, morto, e feras ao seu redor; enquanto eles choravam e choravam por causa deste apenas um. De seu corpo, por causa de sua pureza, exalava um cheiro de especiarias doces.

3And they found him lying on the earth, killed, and beasts around him; while they wept and cried because of this just one. From his body, by reason of its purity, went forth a smell of sweet spices.

4E Adão o carregou, com lágrimas escorrendo pelo rosto; e foi até a Caverna dos Tesouros, onde o colocou, e o enrolou com especiarias doces e mirra.

4And Adam carried him, his tears streaming down his face; and went to the Cave of Treasures, where he laid him, and wound him up with sweet spices and myrrh.

5E Adão e Eva continuaram com o sepultamento dele em grande tristeza por cento e quarenta dias. Abel tinha quinze anos e meio e Caim dezessete anos e meio.

5And Adam and Eve continued by the burial of him in great grief a hundred and forty days. Abel was fifteen and a half years old, and Cain seventeen years and a half.

6Quanto a Caim, quando terminou o luto pelo irmão, ele tomou sua irmã Luluwa e casou-se com ela, sem licença do pai e da mãe; pois eles não podiam mantê-lo longe dela, por causa de seu coração pesado.

6As for Cain, when the mourning for his brother was ended, he took his sister Luluwa and married her, without leave from his father and mother; for they could not keep him from her, by reason of their heavy heart.

7Ele então desceu até o sopé da montanha, longe do jardim, perto do local onde havia matado seu irmão.

7He then went down to the bottom of the mountain, away from the garden, near to the place where he had killed his brother.

8E naquele lugar havia muitas árvores frutíferas e árvores da floresta. Sua irmã lhe deu filhos, que por sua vez começaram a se multiplicar gradativamente até preencherem aquele lugar.

8And in that place were many fruit trees and forest trees. His sister bare him children, who in their turn began to multiply by degrees until they filled that place.

9Mas quanto a Adão e Eva, eles não se reuniram depois do funeral de Abel, durante sete anos. Depois disso, porém, Eva concebeu; e enquanto ela estava grávida, Adão disse-lhe: "Venha, vamos pegar uma oferta e oferecê-la a Deus, e pedir-Lhe que nos dê um filho lindo, em quem possamos encontrar conforto, e com quem possamos unir-nos em casamento com a irmã de Abel."

9But as for Adam and Eve, they came not together after Abel's funeral, for seven years. After this, however, Eve conceived; and while she was with child, Adam said to her, "Come, let us take an offering and offer it up unto God, and ask Him to give us a fair child, in whom we may find comfort, and whom we may join in marriage to Abel's sister."

10Então prepararam uma oferta e a levaram ao altar, e a ofereceram perante o Senhor, e começaram a suplicar-lhe que aceitasse a sua oferta e lhes desse uma boa descendência.

10Then they prepared an offering and brought it up to the altar, and offered it before the Lord, and began to entreat Him to accept their offering, and to give them a good offspring.

11E Deus ouviu Adão e aceitou sua oferta. Então, eles adoraram Adão, Eva e sua filha, e desceram à Caverna dos Tesouros e colocaram nela uma lâmpada, para queimar de noite e de dia, diante do corpo de Abel.

11And God heard Adam and accepted his offering. Then, they worshipped, Adam, Eve, and their daughter, and came down to the Cave of Treasures and placed a lamp in it, to burn by night and by day, before the body of Abel.

12Então Adão e Eva continuaram jejuando e orando até que chegou a hora de Eva ser libertada, quando ela disse a Adão: “Desejo ir para a caverna na rocha, para dar à luz nela”.

12Then Adam and Eve continued fasting and praying until Eve's time came that she should be delivered, when she said to Adam, "I wish to go to the cave in the rock, to bring forth in it."

13E ele disse: “Vá e leve contigo tua filha para te servir; mas eu permanecerei nesta Caverna dos Tesouros diante do corpo de meu filho Abel”.

13And he said, "Go, and take with thee thy daughter to wait on thee; but I will remain in this Cave of Treasures before the body of my son Abel."

14Então Eva deu ouvidos a Adão e foi, ela e sua filha. Mas Adão permaneceu sozinho na Caverna dos Tesouros.

14Then Eve hearkened to Adam, and went, she and her daughter. But Adam remained by himself in the Cave of Treasures.
