1 Adão e Eva 45

1Então Adão se levantou e orou a Deus, dizendo: «Vê, este fogo nos separou da caverna em que nos ordenaste habitar; mas agora, eis que não podemos entrar nela».

1Then Adam rose and prayed to God, saying, "See, this fire has separated us from the cave in which You have commanded us to live; but now, behold, we cannot go into it."

2Ouviu Deus a Adão e enviou-lhe a Sua Palavra, que dizia:

2Then God heard Adam, and sent him His Word, that said:—

3«Ó Adão, contempla este fogo! Quão diferentes são a labareda e o calor dele em comparação ao jardim das delícias e aos bens que nele há!

3"O Adam, see this fire! How different the flame and heat thereof are from the garden of delights and the good things in it!

4Quando estavas sob o Meu domínio, todas as criaturas se submetiam a ti; mas, depois que transgrediste o Meu mandamento, todas elas se insurgem contra ti».

4When you were under My control, all creatures yielded to you; but after you have transgressed My commandment, they all rise over you."

5Disse-lhe mais Deus: «Vê, ó Adão, como Satanás te exaltou! Ele te privou da Divindade e de um estado sublime semelhante a Mim, e não te guardou a sua palavra; mas, no fim de tudo, tornou-se teu inimigo. Foi ele quem ateou este fogo no qual pretendia queimar a ti e a Eva.

5God said again to him, "See, O Adam, how Satan has exalted you! He has deprived you of the Godhead, and of an exalted state like Me, and has not kept his word to you; but has, after all, become your enemy. He is the one who made this fire in which he meant to burn you and Eve.

6Por que, ó Adão, não guardou ele o pacto contigo nem mesmo por um único dia; antes te despojou da glória que sobre ti repousava, quando cedeste à sua ordem?

6Why, O Adam, has he not kept his agreement with you, not even one day; but has deprived you of the glory that was on you—when you yielded to his command?

7Crês tu, Adão, que ele te amava quando fez essa aliança contigo? Ou que ele te queria bem e desejava elevar-te às alturas?

7Do you think, Adam, that he loved you when he made this agreement with you? Or that he loved you and wished to raise you on high?

8Mas não, Adão, ele não fez tudo aquilo por amor a ti; antes desejou fazer-te sair da luz para as trevas; e de um estado excelso para a degradação; da glória para o abatimento; do júbilo para o pranto; e do repouso para o jejum e desfalecimento».

8But no, Adam, he did not do all that out of love to you; but he wished to make you come out of light into darkness; and from an exalted state to degradation; from glory to abasement; from joy to sorrow; and from rest to fasting and fainting."

9Disse mais Deus a Adão: «Olha para este fogo aceso por Satanás ao redor de tua caverna; contempla esta maravilha que te cerca; e sabe que ele envolverá a ti e à tua posteridade, quando obedecerdes à sua voz; que ele vos afligirá com fogo; e que descereis ao inferno depois que tiverdes morrido.

9God also said to Adam, "See this fire kindled by Satan around your cave; see this wonder that surrounds you; and know that it will encompass about both you and your descendants, when you obey his command; that he will plague you with fire; and that you will go down into hell after you are dead.

10Então contemplarás o ardor de seu fogo, que arderá ao redor de ti e de teus descendentes. Dele não sereis livrados até a Minha vinda; do mesmo modo como agora não podes entrar em tua caverna por causa do grande fogo ao seu redor; até que venha a Minha Palavra e vos abra caminho no dia em que a Minha aliança for consumada.

10Then you will see the burning of his fire, that will be burning around you and likewise your descendants. You will not be delivered from it until My coming; just like you cannot go into your cave right now because of the great fire around it; not until My Word comes and makes a way for you on the day My covenant is fulfilled.

11Não há meio ao presente de passares desta vida ao repouso, até que venha a Minha Palavra, que é a Minha Palavra. Então Ele vos fará um caminho, e tereis descanso». Então Deus ordenou com a Sua Palavra ao fogo que ardia ao redor da caverna que se fendesse ao meio, até que Adão passasse por ele. E o fogo se fendeu pela ordem de Deus, abrindo-se caminho para Adão.

11There is no way for you at present to come from this life to rest, not until My Word comes, who is My Word. Then He will make a way for you, and you shall have rest." Then God called with His Word to the fire that burned around the cave, that it split itself in half, until Adam had gone through it. Then the fire parted itself by God's order, and a way was made for Adam.

12E Deus retirou a Sua Palavra de Adão.

12And God withdrew His Word from Adam.
