1Ela lutou efetivamente pela lei de seus antepassados, e porque você era mais temente a Deus, e piedade pela piedade de Abraão abriu o caminho.

2Ó mulher que deu à luz, mais nobre que os nobres em paciência, mais corajosa que os homens em perseverança!

3Pois como a arca de Noé, portando o mundo nas ondas do dilúvio, suportou corajosamente.

4Tu também, guardiã da lei, assolada de todos os lados pelo dilúvio de tuas paixões e pelos ventos violentos, as torturas de teus filhos, suportaste nobremente as tempestades pela causa da piedade.

4So also you, guardian of the law, assaulted on all sides by the flood of your passions and by the violent winds, the tortures of your sons, nobly endured the tempests for the cause of piety.

5Se então uma mulher avançada em anos, mãe de sete filhos, suportou ver seus filhos torturados até a morte, é admitido que a razão piedosa é soberana absolutamente.

5If then a woman advanced in years, mother of seven sons, endured seeing her sons tortured to death, it is admitted that pious reason is absolutely sovereign.
