1Ai de ti, Babilônia e Ásia! Ai de ti, Egito e Síria!

1Woe to you, Babylon and Asia! Woe to you, Egypt and Syria!

2Cinjam-se de cilícios e panos de lamento, e lamentem seus filhos, e se entristeçam, porque sua destruição está próxima.

2Gird yourselves with sackcloth and garments of lamentation, and mourn your children, and grieve, for your destruction is near.

3A espada foi enviada sobre vós, e quem a fará retroceder?

3The sword has been sent upon you, and who will turn it back?

4O fogo foi enviado sobre vós, e quem o apagará?

4Fire has been sent upon you, and who will quench it?

5As calamidades foram enviadas sobre vós, e quem as repelirá?

5Calamities have been sent upon you, and who will repel them?

6Pode alguém repelir um leão faminto na floresta, ou apagar o fogo quando a palha está queimando?

6Can anyone repel a hungry lion in the forest, or put out the fire when the chaff is burning?

7Pode alguém repelir uma flecha disparada por um arqueiro forte?

7Can anyone repel an arrow shot by a strong archer?

8O Senhor Deus envia as calamidades, e quem as repelirá?

8The Lord God sends the calamities, and who will repel them?

9O fogo saiu de sua ira, e quem o apagará?

9Fire has gone out from his wrath, and who will quench it?

10Ele relampejará, e quem não temerá? Ele trovejará, e quem não tremará?

10He will flash lightning, and who will not fear? He will thunder, and who will not tremble?

11O Senhor ameaçará, e quem não será completamente destruído diante dele?

11The Lord will threaten, and who will not be completely destroyed before him?

12A terra e seus fundamentos tremem, o mar se agita das profundezas, e suas ondas e os peixes nelas serão perturbados diante da face do Senhor e da glória de seu poder.

12The earth and its foundations tremble, the sea is stirred up from the depths, and its waves and the fish in them will be disturbed before the face of the Lord and the glory of his power.

13Pois sua mão que curva o arco é forte, e suas flechas que ele atira são afiadas e não errarão quando começarem a ser atiradas aos confins do mundo.

13For his hand that bends the bow is strong, and his arrows that he shoots are sharp and will not miss when they begin to be shot to the ends of the world.

14Eis que as calamidades são enviadas e não voltarão até que venham sobre a terra.

14Behold, the calamities are sent and will not return until they come upon the earth.

15O fogo está aceso e não será apagado até que consuma os fundamentos da terra.

15The fire is kindled and will not be quenched until it consumes the foundations of the earth.
