4 Esdras 14

1E aconteceu que, após o terceiro dia, eu estava sentado debaixo de um carvalho.

1And it happened that, after the third day, I was sitting under an oak.

2E eis que uma voz saiu de um arbusto diante de mim e disse: Esdras, Esdras!

2And behold, a voice came out of a bush before me and said: Esdras, Esdras!

3E eu disse: Aqui estou, Senhor. E me levantei sobre meus pés.

3And I said: Here I am, Lord. And I rose upon my feet.

4E ele me disse: Eu me revelei claramente a Moisés no arbusto, quando meu povo servia no Egito.

4And he said to me: I revealed myself clearly to Moses in the bush, when my people served in Egypt.

5E o enviei e tirei meu povo do Egito, e o trouxe ao monte Sinai, onde o mantive comigo muitos dias.

5And I sent him and brought my people out of Egypt, and brought him to Mount Sinai, where I kept him with me many days.

6E lhe contei muitas coisas maravilhosas, e lhe mostrei os segredos dos tempos e o fim; e lhe ordenei, dizendo:

6And I told him many wonderful things, and showed him the secrets of the times and the end; and I commanded him, saying:

7Estas palavras publicarás abertamente, e estas ocultarás.

7These words you shall publish openly, and these you shall hide.

8E agora te digo: Guarda em teu coração os sinais que te mostrei, os sonhos que viste, e as interpretações que ouviste.

8And now I say to you: Keep in your heart the signs I have shown you, the dreams you have seen, and the interpretations you have heard.

9Pois serás levado dentre os homens, e doravante viverás com meu Filho e com os que são como tu, até que os tempos terminem.

9For you will be taken from among men, and henceforth you will live with my Son and with those who are like you, until the times end.

10Pois o mundo perdeu sua juventude, e os tempos começam a envelhecer.

10For the world has lost its youth, and the times begin to grow old.
