4 Esdras 11

1Na segunda noite tive um sonho: eis que uma águia subiu do mar, com doze alas e três cabeças.

1On the second night I had a dream: behold, an eagle rose from the sea, with twelve wings and three heads.

2E eu olhei, e eis que ela estendia suas asas sobre toda a terra, e todos os ventos do céu sopravam sobre ela, e as nuvens se ajuntavam sobre ela.

2And I looked, and behold, it spread its wings over all the earth, and all the winds of heaven blew upon it, and the clouds gathered upon it.

3E das suas asas vi asas contrárias brotarem, e elas se tornaram pequenas asas secundárias.

3And from its wings I saw contrary wings sprout, and they became small secondary wings.

4Mas suas cabeças estavam em repouso; a cabeça do meio era maior que as outras, mas também estava em repouso com elas.

4But its heads were at rest; the middle head was larger than the others, but it also was at rest with them.

5E olhei, e eis que a águia voou com suas asas para reinar sobre a terra e sobre os que nela habitam.

5And I looked, and behold, the eagle flew with its wings to reign over the earth and over those who dwell in it.

6E vi que todas as coisas debaixo do céu lhe estavam sujeitas, e ninguém lhe resistia, nem mesmo uma das criaturas que estão sobre a terra.

6And I saw that all things under heaven were subject to it, and no one resisted it, not even one of the creatures that are on earth.

7E olhei, e eis que a águia se ergueu sobre suas garras e proferiu uma voz às suas asas, dizendo:

7And I looked, and behold, the eagle rose on its talons and uttered a voice to its wings, saying:

8Não vigiai todas juntas; cada uma durma em seu lugar e vigiai por turnos.

8Do not all keep watch together; each one sleep in its place and keep watch in turns.

9Mas as cabeças serão guardadas para o fim.

9But the heads will be kept for the end.

10E olhei, e eis que a voz não vinha de suas cabeças, mas do meio do seu corpo.

10And I looked, and behold, the voice did not come from its heads, but from the middle of its body.
