4 Baruque 6

1Depois disso, Abimeleque saiu da cidade e orou ao Senhor.

1After this, Abimelech went out of the city and prayed to the Lord.

2E eis que um anjo do Senhor veio e o tomou pela mão direita e o levou de volta para onde Baruque estava sentado, e o encontrou num túmulo.

2And behold, an angel of the Lord came and took him by the right hand and brought him back to where Baruch was sitting, and he found him in a tomb.

3E quando se viram, os dois choraram e se beijaram.

3And when they saw each other, they both wept and kissed each other.

4Mas quando Baruque ergueu os olhos, viu com seus próprios olhos os figos que estavam no cesto de Abimeleque.

4But when Baruch looked up he saw with his own eyes the figs that were covered in Abimelech's basket.

5E levantando os olhos para o céu, orou, dizendo:

5And lifting his eyes to heaven, he prayed, saying:

6Você é o Deus que dá uma recompensa àqueles que te amam. Prepare-se, meu coração, e regozije-se e alegre-se enquanto estiver em seu tabernáculo, dizendo à sua casa carnal: “sua tristeza foi transformada em alegria”; pois o Suficiente está vindo e o livrará em seu tabernáculo – pois não há pecado em você.

6You are the God who gives a reward to those who love you. Prepare yourself, my heart, and rejoice and be glad while you are in your tabernacle, saying to your fleshly house, "your grief has been changed to joy;" for the Sufficient One is coming and will deliver you in your tabernacle -- for there is no sin in you.

7Reviva no seu tabernáculo, na sua fé virginal, e acredite que você viverá!

7Revive in your tabernacle, in your virginal faith, and believe that you will live!

8Olhe para esta cesta de figos - pois eis que eles têm 66 anos e não murcharam nem apodreceram, mas estão pingando leite.

8Look at this basket of figs -- for behold, they are 66 years old and have not become shrivelled or rotten, but they are dripping milk.

9Assim será com você, minha carne, se você fizer o que lhe é ordenado pelo anjo da justiça.

9So it will be with you, my flesh, if you do what is commanded you by the angel of righteousness.

10Aquele que preservou o cesto de figos, o mesmo o preservará novamente pelo seu poder.

10He who preserved the basket of figs, the same will again preserve you by his power.

11Depois de dizer isso, Baruque disse a Abimeleque: Levante-se e oremos para que o Senhor nos faça saber como poderemos enviar a Jeremias, na Babilônia, o relatório sobre o abrigo que lhe foi fornecido no caminho.

11When Baruch had said this, he said to Abimelech: Stand up and let us pray that the Lord may make known to us how we shall be able to send to Jeremiah in Babylon the report about the shelter provided for you on the way.

12E Baruque orou, dizendo: Senhor Deus, a nossa força é a luz eleita que sai da tua boca.

12And Baruch prayed, saying: Lord God, our strength is the elect light which comes forth from your mouth.

13Suplicamos e imploramos por sua bondade - você cujo grande nome ninguém é capaz de conhecer - ouça a voz de seus servos e deixe o conhecimento entrar em nossos corações.

13We beseech and beg of your goodness -- you whose great name no one is able to know -- hear the voice of your servants and let knowledge come into our hearts.

14O que faremos e como enviaremos este relatório a Jeremias na Babilônia?

14What shall we do, and how shall we send this report to Jeremiah in Babylon?

15E enquanto Baruque ainda estava orando, eis que um anjo do Senhor veio e disse todas estas palavras a Baruque: Agente da luz, não fique ansioso sobre como enviará a Jeremias; pois uma águia virá até você amanhã à hora da luz, e você a encaminhará a Jeremias.

15And while Baruch was still praying, behold an angel of the Lord came and said all these words to Baruch: Agent of the light, do not be anxious about how you will send to Jeremiah; for an eagle is coming to you at the hour of light tomorrow, and you will direct him to Jeremiah.

16Portanto, escreva uma carta: Diga aos filhos de Israel: Seja separado o estrangeiro que vier entre vocês e deixe passar 15 dias; e depois disto te levarei à tua cidade, diz o Senhor.

16Therefore, write in a letter: Say to the children of Israel: Let the stranger who comes among you be set apart and let 15 days go by; and after this I will lead you into your city, says the Lord.

17Quem não está separado da Babilônia não entrará na cidade; e eu os castigarei, impedindo que sejam recebidos de volta pelos babilônios, diz o Senhor.

17He who is not separated from Babylon will not enter into the city; and I will punish them by keeping them from being received back by the Babylonians, says the Lord.

18E quando o anjo disse isso, ele partiu de Baruque.

18And when the angel had said this, he departed from Baruch.

19E Baruque mandou ao mercado dos gentios e pegou papiro e tinta e escreveu uma carta assim: Baruque, o servo de Deus, escreve a Jeremias no cativeiro da Babilônia:

19And Baruch sent to the market of the gentiles and got papyrus and ink and wrote a letter as follows: Baruch, the servant of God, writes to Jeremiah in the captivity of Babylon:

20Saudações! Alegrem-se, pois Deus não permitiu que nos afastássemos deste corpo de luto pela cidade que foi devastada e indignada.

20Greetings! Rejoice, for God has not allowed us to depart from this body grieving for the city which was laid waste and outraged.

21Por isso o Senhor teve compaixão das nossas lágrimas e lembrou-se da aliança que estabeleceu com nossos pais Abraão, Isaque e Jacó.

21Wherefore the Lord has had compassion on our tears, and has remembered the covenant which he established with our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

22E ele enviou seu anjo para mim, e ele me disse estas palavras que eu envio a você.

22And he sent his angel to me, and he told me these words which I send to you.

23Estas são, pois, as palavras que falou o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, que nos tirou do Egito, da grande fornalha: Porquanto não guardaste os meus estatutos, mas o teu coração se elevou, e foste altivo diante de mim, com ira e furor te entreguei à fornalha na Babilônia.

23These, then, are the words which the Lord, the God of Israel, spoke, who led us out of Egypt, out of the great furnace: Because you did not keep my ordinances, but your heart was lifted up, and you were haughty before me, in anger and wrath I delivered you to the furnace in Babylon.

24Se, portanto, diz o Senhor, ouvirdes a minha voz, da boca de Jeremias, meu servo, farei subir de Babilônia aquele que escuta; mas aquele que não escuta se tornará um estranho em Jerusalém e em Babilônia.

24If, therefore, says the Lord, you listen to my voice, from the mouth of Jeremiah my servant, I will bring the one who listens up from Babylon; but the one who does not listen will become a stranger to Jerusalem and to Babylon.

25E você os provará por meio das águas do Jordão; quem não ouvir será exposto – este é o sinal do grande selo.

25And you will test them by means of the water of the Jordan; whoever does not listen will be exposed -- this is the sign of the great seal.
