3 Baruque 14

1E então vieram da mesma maneira outros anjos chorando e lamentando, e dizendo com medo: Eis como estamos nublados, ó Senhor, pois fomos entregues a homens maus e desejamos afastar-nos deles.

1And then came in like manner other angels weeping and bewailing, and saying with fear, Behold how we are overclouded, O Lord, for we were delivered to evil men, and we wish to depart from them.

2E Miguel disse: Não podeis apartar-se deles, para que o inimigo não prevaleça até o fim; mas diga-me o que você pergunta.

2And Michael said, Ye cannot depart from them, in order that the enemy may not prevail to the end; but say to me what ye ask.

3E eles disseram: Rogamos-te, Miguel, nosso comandante, transfere-nos deles, pois não podemos tolerar homens maus e tolos, pois não há nada de bom neles, mas todo tipo de injustiça e ganância.

3And they said, We pray thee, Michael our commander, transfer us from them, for we cannot abide with wicked and foolish men, for there is nothing good in them, but every kind of unrighteousness and greed.

4Pois não os vemos entrando [na Igreja, nem entre os pais espirituais, nem] em qualquer boa obra. Mas onde há homicídio, também eles estão no meio, e onde há fornicações, adultérios, furtos, calúnias, perjúrios, ciúmes, embriaguez, contendas, inveja, murmurações, sussurros, idolatria, adivinhação e coisas semelhantes, então eles são trabalhadores de tais obras e de outras piores.

4For we do not behold them entering [into Church at all, nor among spiritual fathers, nor] into any good work. But where there is murder, there also are they in the midst, and where are fornications, adulteries, thefts, slanders, perjuries, jealousies, drunkenness, strife, envy, murmurings, whispering, idolatry, divination, and such like, then are they workers of such works, and of others worse.

5Por isso suplicamos que possamos nos afastar deles. E Miguel disse aos anjos: Esperem até que eu aprenda com o Senhor o que acontecerá.

5Wherefore we entreat that we may depart from them. And Michael said to the angels, Wait till I learn from the Lord what shall come to pass.
