3 Baruque 13

1E enquanto eu conversava com eles, eis que vieram anjos trazendo cestos cheios de flores. E eles os deram para Michael.

1And as I was conversing with them, behold angels came bearing baskets full of flowers. And they gave them to Michael.

2E perguntei ao anjo: Senhor, quem são estes e quais são as coisas trazidas para cá do lado deles?

2And I asked the angel, Lord, who are these, and what are the things brought hither from beside them?

3E ele me disse: Estes são os anjos (que) estão sobre os justos.

3And he said to me, These are angels (who) are over the righteous.

4E o arcanjo pegou os cestos e os lançou no vaso.

4And the archangel took the baskets, and cast them into the vessel.

5E o anjo me disse: Estas flores são os méritos dos justos.

5And the angel said to me, These flowers are the merits of the righteous.

6E vi outros anjos carregando cestos que (nem) estavam vazios nem cheios. E começaram a lamentar, e não se aventuraram a aproximar-se, porque não tinham os prêmios completos.

6And I saw other angels bearing baskets which were (neither) empty-nor full. And they began to lament, and did not venture to draw near, because they had not the prizes complete.

7E Miguel chorou e disse: Venham aqui também, anjos, tragam o que trouxeram.

7And Michael cried and said, Come hither, also, ye angels, bring what ye have brought.

8E Miguel ficou muito triste, e o anjo que estava comigo, porque não encheram o vaso.

8And Michael was exceedingly grieved, and the angel who was with me, because they did not fill the vessel.
