2 Tessalonicenses 1

1Paulo, e Silvano, e Timóteo, à igreja dos tessalonicenses, em Deus nosso Pai, e no Senhor Jesus Cristo:

1Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

2Graça e paz a vós da parte de Deus nosso Pai, e da do Senhor Jesus Cristo.

2Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3Sempre devemos, irmãos, dar graças a Deus por vós, como é justo, porque a vossa fé cresce muitíssimo e o amor de cada um de vós aumenta de uns para com os outros,

3We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

4De maneira que nós mesmos nos gloriamos de vós nas igrejas de Deus por causa da vossa paciência e fé, e em todas as vossas perseguições e aflições que suportais;

4So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:

5Prova clara do justo juízo de Deus, para que sejais havidos por dignos do reino de Deus, pelo qual também padeceis;

5{Which is} a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

6Se de fato é justo diante de Deus que dê em paga tribulação aos que vos atribulam,

6Seeing {it is} a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

7E a vós, que sois atribulados, descanso conosco, quando se manifestar o Senhor Jesus desde o céu com os anjos do seu poder,

7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, {his...: Gr. the angels of his power}

8Com labareda de fogo, tomando vingança dos que não conhecem a Deus e dos que não obedecem ao evangelho de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo;

8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: {taking: or, yielding}

9Os quais, por castigo, padecerão eterna perdição, longe da face do Senhor e da glória do seu poder,

9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

10Quando vier para ser glorificado nos seus santos, e para se fazer admirável naquele dia em todos os que crêem (porquanto o nosso testemunho foi crido entre vós).

10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

11Por isso também rogamos sempre por vós, para que o nosso Deus vos faça dignos da sua vocação, e cumpra todo o desejo da sua bondade, e a obra da fé com poder;

11Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of {this} calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of {his} goodness, and the work of faith with power: {count: or, vouchsafe}

12Para que o nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo seja em vós glorificado, e vós nele, segundo a graça de nosso Deus e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.

12That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
