2 Samuel 23

1E estas são as últimas palavras de Davi: Diz Davi, filho de Jessé, e diz o homem que foi levantado em altura, o ungido do Deus de Jacó, e o suave em salmos de Israel.

1Now these {be} the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man {who was} raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

2O Espírito do Senhor falou por mim, e a sua palavra está na minha boca.

2The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word {was} in my tongue.

3Disse o Deus de Israel, a Rocha de Israel a mim me falou: Haverá um justo que domine sobre os homens, que domine no temor de Deus.

3The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men {must be} just, ruling in the fear of God. {He...: or, Be thou ruler, etc}

4E será como a luz da manhã, quando sai o sol, da manhã sem nuvens, quando pelo seu resplendor e pela chuva a erva brota da terra.

4And {he shall be} as the light of the morning, {when} the sun riseth, {even} a morning without clouds; {as} the tender grass {springing} out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

5Ainda que a minha casa não seja tal para com Deus, contudo estabeleceu comigo uma aliança eterna, que em tudo será bem ordenado e guardado, pois toda a minha salvação e todo o meu prazer está nele, apesar de que ainda não o faz brotar.

5Although my house {be} not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all {things}, and sure: for {this is} all my salvation, and all {my} desire, although he make {it} not to grow.

6Porém os filhos de Belial todos serão como os espinhos que se lançam fora, porque não podem ser tocados com a mão.

6But {the sons} of Belial {shall be} all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:

7Mas qualquer que os tocar se armará de ferro e da haste de uma lança; e a fogo serão totalmente queimados no mesmo lugar.

7But the man {that} shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the {same} place. {fenced: Heb. filled}

8Estes são os nomes dos poderosos que Davi teve: Josebe-Bassebete, filho de Taquemoni, o principal dos capitães; este era Adino, o eznita, que se opusera a oitocentos, e os feriu de uma vez.

8These {be} the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same {was} Adino the Eznite: {he lift up his spear} against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time. {The Tachmonite...: or, Joshebbassebet the Tachmonite, head of the three} {whom he...: Heb. slain} {he lift...: from (1ch:) whom he...: Heb. slain}

9E depois dele Eleazar, filho de Dodó, filho de Aoí, entre os três valentes que estavam com Davi quando provocaram os filisteus que ali se ajuntaram à peleja, e quando se retiraram os homens de Israel.

9And after him {was} Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, {one} of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines {that} were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:

10Este se levantou, e feriu os filisteus, até lhe cansar a mão e ficar a mão pegada à espada; e naquele dia o Senhor efetuou um grande livramento; e o povo voltou junto dele, somente a tomar o despojo.

10He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.

11E depois dele Samá, filho de Agé, o hararita, quando os filisteus se ajuntaram numa multidão, onde havia um pedaço de terra cheio de lentilhas, e o povo fugira de diante dos filisteus.

11And after him {was} Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines. {into...: or, for foraging}

12Este, pois, se pôs no meio daquele pedaço de terra, e o defendeu, e feriu os filisteus; e o Senhor efetuou um grande livramento.

12But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.

13Também três dos trinta chefes desceram, e no tempo da sega foram a Davi, à caverna de Adulão; e a multidão dos filisteus acampara no vale de Refaim.

13And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim. {three...: or, the three captains over the thirty}

14Davi estava então num lugar forte, e a guarnição dos filisteus em Belém.

14And David {was} then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines {was} then {in} Bethlehem.

15E teve Davi desejo, e disse: Quem me dera beber da água da cisterna de Belém, que está junto à porta!

15And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which {is} by the gate!

16Então aqueles três poderosos romperam pelo arraial dos filisteus, e tiraram água da cisterna de Belém, que está junto à porta, e a tomaram, e a trouxeram a Davi; porém ele não a quis beber, mas derramou-a perante o Senhor.

16And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that {was} by the gate, and took {it}, and brought {it} to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.

17E disse: Guarda-me, ó Senhor, de que tal faça; beberia eu o sangue dos homens que foram com risco da sua vida? De maneira que não a quis beber; isto fizeram aqueles três poderosos.

17And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: {is not this} the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

18Também Abisai, irmão de Joabe, filho de Zeruia, era chefe de três; e este alçou a sua lança contra trezentos e os feriu; e tinha nome entre os três.

18And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, {and} slew {them}, and had the name among three. {and slew them: Heb. slain}

19Porventura este não era o mais nobre dentre estes três? Pois era o primeiro deles; porém aos primeiros três não chegou.

19Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the {first} three.

20Também Benaia, filho de Joiada, filho de um homem valoroso de Cabzeel, grande em obras, este feriu dois fortes heróis de Moabe; e desceu ele, e feriu um leão no meio duma cova, no tempo da neve.

20And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow: {who...: Heb. great of acts} {lionlike...: Heb. lion of God}

21Também este feriu um egípcio, homem de respeito; e na mão do egípcio havia uma lança, porém ele desceu a ele com um cajado, e arrancou a lança da mão do egípcio, e com ela o matou.

21And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear. {a goodly...: Heb. a man of countenance, or, sight: also called, a man of great stature}

22Estas coisas fez Benaia, filho de Joiada, pelo que teve nome entre três poderosos.

22These {things} did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.

23Dentre os trinta ele era o mais nobre, porém aos três primeiros não chegou; e Davi o pôs sobre os seus guardas.

23He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the {first} three. And David set him over his guard. {more...: or, honourable among the thirty} {guard: or, council: Heb. at his command}

24Asael, irmão de Joabe, estava entre os trinta; El-Hanã, filho de Dodó, de Belém;

24Asahel the brother of Joab {was} one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,

25Samá, harodita; Elica, harodita;

25Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,

26Helez, paltita; Ira, filho de Iques, tecoíta;

26Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,

27Abiezer, anatotita; Mebunai, husatita;

27Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,

28Zalmom, aoíta; Maarai, netofatita;

28Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,

29Elebe, filho de Baaná, netofatita; Itai, filho de Ribai, de Gibeá dos filhos de Benjamim;

29Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,

30Benaia, piratonita; Hidai, do ribeiro de Gaás;

30Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash, {brooks: or, valleys}

31Abi-Albom, arbatita; Azmavete, barumita;

31Abialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,

32Eliaba, saalbonita; os filhos de Jásen e Jônatas;

32Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,

33Samá, hararita, Aião, filho de Sarar, ararita;

33Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,

34Elifelete, filho de Aasbai, filho de um maacatita; Eliã, filho de Aitofel, gilonita;

34Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,

35Hesrai, carmelita; Paarai, arbita;

35Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,

36Igal, filho de Natã, de Zobá; Bani, gadita;

36Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,

37Zeleque, amonita; Naarai, beerotita, o que trazia as armas de Joabe, filho de Zeruia;

37Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,

38Ira, itrita; Garebe, itrita;

38Ira an Ithrite, Gareb an Ithrite,

39Urias, heteu; trinta e sete ao todo.

39Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
