1E sucedeu que, no nono ano do seu reinado, no mês décimo, aos dez do mês, Nabucodonosor, rei de babilônia, veio contra Jerusalém, ele e todo o seu exército, e se acampou contra ela, e levantaram contra ela trincheiras em redor.

1And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth {day} of the month, {that} Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.

2E a cidade foi sitiada até ao undécimo ano do rei Zedequias.

2And the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

3Aos nove do mês quarto, quando a cidade se via apertada pela fome, nem havia pão para o povo da terra,

3And on the ninth {day} of the {fourth} month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.

4Então a cidade foi invadida, e todos os homens de guerra fugiram de noite pelo caminho da porta, entre os dois muros que estavam junto ao jardim do rei (porque os caldeus estavam contra a cidade em redor), e o rei se foi pelo caminho da campina.

4And the city was broken up, and all the men of war {fled} by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which {is} by the king's garden: (now the Chaldees {were} against the city round about:) and {the king} went the way toward the plain.

5Porém o exército dos caldeus perseguiu o rei, e o alcançou nas campinas de Jericó; e todo o seu exército se dispersou.

5And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him.

6E tomaram o rei, e o fizeram subir ao rei de babilônia, a Ribla; e foi-lhe pronunciada a sentença.

6So they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him. {gave...: Heb. spake judgment with him}

7E aos filhos de Zedequias mataram diante dos seus olhos; e vazaram os olhos de Zedequias, e o ataram com duas cadeias de bronze, e o levaram a babilônia.

7And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon. {put...: Heb. made blind}

8E no quinto mês, no sétimo dia do mês (este era o ano décimo nono de Nabucodonosor, rei de babilônia), veio Nebuzaradã, capitão da guarda, servo do rei de babilônia, a Jerusalém.

8And in the fifth month, on the seventh {day} of the month, which {is} the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem: {captain...: or, chief marshal}

9E queimou a casa do Senhor e a casa do rei, como também todas as casas de Jerusalém, e todas as casas dos grandes queimou.

9And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great {man's} house burnt he with fire.

10E todo o exército dos caldeus, que estava com o capitão da guarda, derrubou os muros em redor de Jerusalém.

10And all the army of the Chaldees, that {were with} the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about.

11E o mais do povo que deixaram ficar na cidade, os rebeldes que se renderam ao rei de babilônia e o mais da multidão, Nebuzaradã, o capitão da guarda, levou presos.

11Now the rest of the people {that were} left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away. {fugitives: Heb. fallen away}

12Porém dos mais pobres da terra deixou o capitão da guarda ficar alguns para vinheiros e para lavradores.

12But the captain of the guard left of the poor of the land {to be} vinedressers and husbandmen.

13Quebraram mais, os caldeus, as colunas de cobre que estavam na casa do SENHOR, como também as bases e o mar de cobre que estavam na casa do SENHOR; e levaram o seu bronze para babilônia.

13And the pillars of brass that {were} in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that {was} in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried the brass of them to Babylon.

14Também tomaram as caldeiras, as pás, os apagadores, as colheres e todos os vasos de cobre, com que se ministrava.

14And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.

15Também o capitão-da-guarda tomou os braseiros, e as bacias, o que era de ouro puro, em ouro e o que era de prata, em prata.

15And the firepans, and the bowls, {and} such things as {were} of gold, {in} gold, and of silver, {in} silver, the captain of the guard took away.

16As duas colunas, um mar, e as bases, que Salomão fizera para a casa do Senhor; o cobre de todos estes vasos não tinha peso.

16The two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD; the brass of all these vessels was without weight. {one...: Heb. the one sea}

17A altura de uma coluna era de dezoito côvados, e sobre ela havia um capitel de cobre, e de altura tinha o capitel três côvados; e a rede e as romãs em redor do capitel, tudo era de cobre; e semelhante a esta era a outra coluna com a rede.

17The height of the one pillar {was} eighteen cubits, and the chapiter upon it {was} brass: and the height of the chapiter three cubits; and the wreathen work, and pomegranates upon the chapiter round about, all of brass: and like unto these had the second pillar with wreathen work.

18Também o capitão-da-guarda tomou a Seraías, primeiro sacerdote, e a Sofonias, segundo sacerdote, e aos três guardas do umbral da porta.

18And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door: {door: Heb. threshold}

19E da cidade tomou a um oficial, que tinha cargo dos homens de guerra, e a cinco homens dos que estavam na presença do rei, e se achavam na cidade, como também ao escrivão-mor do exército, que registrava o povo da terra para a guerra, e a sessenta homens do povo da terra, que se achavam na cidade.

19And out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war, and five men of them that were in the king's presence, which were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the host, which mustered the people of the land, and threescore men of the people of the land {that were} found in the city: {officer: or, eunuch} {were in...: Heb. saw the king's face} {principal...: or, scribe of the captain of the host}

20E tomando-os Nebuzaradã, o capitão da guarda, os levou ao rei de babilônia, a Ribla.

20And Nebuzaradan captain of the guard took these, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah:

21E o rei de babilônia os feriu e os matou em Ribla, na terra de Hamate; e Judá foi levado preso para fora da sua terra.

21And the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.

22Porém, quanto ao povo que ficara na terra de Judá, que Nabucodonosor, rei de babilônia, deixou ficar, pôs sobre ele, por governador a Gedalias, filho de Aicão, filho de Safã.

22And {as for} the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.

23Ouvindo, pois, os capitães dos exércitos, eles e os seus homens, que o rei de babilônia pusera a Gedalias por governador, vieram a Gedalias, a Mizpá, a saber: Ismael, filho de Netanias, e Joanã, filho de Careá, e Seraías, filho de Tanumete, o netofatita, e Jazanias, filho do maacatita, eles e os seus homens.

23And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, there came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Careah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

24E Gedalias jurou a eles e aos seus homens, e lhes disse: Não temais ser servos dos caldeus; ficai na terra, servi ao rei de babilônia, e bem vos irá.

24And Gedaliah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you.

25Sucedeu, porém, que, no sétimo mês, veio Ismael, filho de Netanias, o filho de Elisama, da descendência real, e dez homens com ele, e feriram a Gedalias, e ele morreu, como também aos judeus, e aos caldeus que estavam com ele em Mizpá.

25But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah. {royal: Heb. of the kingdom}

26Então todo o povo se levantou, desde o menor até ao maior, como também os capitães dos exércitos, e foram ao Egito, porque temiam os caldeus.

26And all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the armies, arose, and came to Egypt: for they were afraid of the Chaldees.

27Depois disto sucedeu que, no ano trinta e sete do cativeiro de Joaquim, rei de Judá, no mês duodécimo, aos vinte e sete do mês, Evil-Merodaque, rei de babilônia, no ano em que reinou, levantou a cabeça de Joaquim, rei de Judá, tirando-o da casa da prisão.

27And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth {day} of the month, {that} Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;

28E lhe falou benignamente; e pôs o seu trono acima do trono dos reis que estavam com ele em babilônia.

28And he spake kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that {were} with him in Babylon; {kindly...: Heb. good things with him}

29E lhe mudou as roupas de prisão, e de contínuo comeu pão na sua presença todos os dias da sua vida.

29And changed his prison garments: and he did eat bread continually before him all the days of his life.

30E, quanto à sua subsistência, pelo rei lhe foi dada subsistência contínua, a porção de cada dia no seu dia, todos os dias da sua vida.

30And his allowance {was} a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.
