1Quando o homem veste o nu e enche o faminto, ele encontrará recompensa de Deus.

1When man clothes the naked and fills the hungry, he will find reward from God.

2Mas se seu coração murmurar, ele comete um duplo mal: a ruína de si mesmo e daquilo que ele dá; e para ele não haverá recompensa alguma por conta disso.

2But if his heart murmurs, he commits a double evil: the ruin of himself and of that which he gives; and for him there will be no reward at all on account of it.

3E se seu próprio coração está cheio com sua comida e sua própria carne com sua roupa, ele comete desprezo, e perde toda a sua resistência à pobreza, e não encontrará recompensa de suas boas ações.

3And if his own heart is filled with his food and his own flesh with his clothing, he commits contempt, and loses all his endurance to poverty, and will not find reward for his good deeds.

4Todo homem orgulhoso e magniloquente é odioso ao Senhor, e toda fala falsa, vestida em inverdade; será cortada com a lâmina da espada da morte, e lançada no fogo, e queimará por todo o tempo.

4Every proud and magniloquent man is hateful to the Lord, and every false speech, clothed in untruth; it will be cut with the blade of the sword of death, and thrown into the fire, and will burn for all time.
