1Ouvi, meu povo, e tomai as palavras dos meus lábios.

1Hear, my people, and take the words from my lips.

2Se alguém trouxer quaisquer presentes a um governante terreno, e tiver pensamentos desleais em seu coração, e o governante souber disso, não ficará zangado com ele, e não recusará seus presentes, e não o entregará a julgamento?

2If anyone brings any gifts to an earthly ruler, and has disloyal thoughts in his heart, and the ruler knows it, will he not be angry with him, and not refuse his gifts, and not deliver him to judgment?

3Ou se um homem se fizer parecer bom para outro por engano de língua, mas tiver maldade em seu coração, então o outro não entenderá a traição de seu coração, e ele mesmo será condenado, visto que sua inverdade era clara para todos?

3Or if a man makes himself appear good to another by deceit of tongue, but has malice in his heart, then will not the other understand the treachery of his heart, and will he himself not be condemned, since his untruth was clear to all?

4E quando o Senhor enviar uma grande luz, então haverá julgamento para o justo e o injusto, e lá ninguém escapará de ser notado.

4And when the Lord sends a great light, then there will be judgment for the just and the unjust, and there no one will escape being noticed.
