1Tornei então sólido o círculo celeste e ordenei às águas que estavam abaixo do céu, que se juntassem em um mesmo lugar.

1Then I made solid the heavenly circle and commanded the waters that were below heaven to gather in one same place.

2Das ondas criei pedras grandes e sólidas, e da pedra juntei o árido.

2From the waves I created great and solid stones, and from the stone I gathered the dry land.

3E chamei o árido terra, e o centro da terra chamei de abismo.

3And I called the dry land earth, and the center of the earth I called abyss.

4Juntei os mares num mesmo lugar, e uni-os com uma cadeia.

4I gathered the seas in one place, and joined them with a chain.

5E disse ao mar: 'Vê, donde teus limites eternos, e tu não haverás de libertar-te de tuas partes constituintes.'

5And I said to the sea: 'Behold, hence your eternal limits, and you shall not free yourself from your constituent parts.'
