2 Enoque 1

1Havia um sábio, um grande artífice, e o Senhor dedicou-lhe seu amor e o recebeu, a ponto de fazê-lo testemunhar as mais altas moradas dos maiores e mais sábios e imutáveis reinos do Todo-Poderoso.

1There was a wise man, a great craftsman, and the Lord loved him and received him, so that he might see the uppermost dwellings and be a witness of the wise and great and inconceivable and unchanging kingdom of God Almighty.

2Naquele tempo, disse ele, quando completei cento e sessenta e cinco anos, gerei meu filho Matusalém.

2At that time, he said, when I had completed one hundred and sixty-five years, I begot my son Methuselah.

3Depois disso, vivi duzentos anos e, ao todo, minha vida foi de trezentos e sessenta e cinco anos.

3After that I lived two hundred years and completed all the years of my life, three hundred and sixty-five years.

4No primeiro dia do primeiro mês, estava eu sozinho em minha casa descansando no meu leito, quando adormeci.

4On the first day of the first month I was alone in my house, resting on my bed, and I slept.

5E quando estava adormecido, uma grande tristeza tomou conta de meu coração e chorei durante o sono.

5And when I was asleep, great grief came over my heart, and I was weeping in my sleep.

6E então me apareceram dois homens, extraordinariamente grandes; suas faces resplandeciam como sol e seus olhos eram como uma chama.

6And there appeared to me two men, exceedingly big; their faces shone like the sun, and their eyes were like burning lamps.

7Eles estavam em pé, na cabeceira de meu leito, e puseram-se a chamar-me pelo nome.

7They were standing at the head of my bed called me by name.

8E disseram: 'Tem coragem, Enoque, não temas; o Deus eterno nos mandou a ti e hoje deverás subir aos céus conosco.'

8And they said: 'Have courage, Enoch, do not fear; the eternal God sent us to you, and today you shall ascend with us into heaven.'
