1E começou Salomão a edificar a casa do SENHOR em Jerusalém, no monte Moriá, onde o SENHOR aparecera a Davi seu pai, no lugar que Davi tinha preparado na eira de Ornã, o jebuseu.

1Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where {the LORD} appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite. {where...: or, which was seen of David his father} {Ornan: also called, Araunah}

2E começou a edificar no segundo mês, no segundo dia, no ano quarto do seu reinado.

2And he began to build in the second {day} of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.

3E estes foram os fundamentos que Salomão pôs para edificar a casa de Deus: o comprimento em côvados, segundo a primeira medida, era de sessenta côvados, e a largura de vinte côvados.

3Now these {are the things wherein} Solomon was instructed for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure {was} threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits. {instructed: Heb. founded}

4E o pátio, que estava na frente, tinha vinte côvados de comprimento, segundo a largura da casa, e a altura era de cento e vinte; e por dentro o revestiu com ouro puro.

4And the porch that {was} in the front {of the house}, the length {of it was} according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height {was} an hundred and twenty: and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

5E a casa grande forrou com madeira de faia; e então a revestiu com ouro fino; e fez sobre ela palmas e cadeias.

5And the greater house he cieled with fir tree, which he overlaid with fine gold, and set thereon palm trees and chains.

6Também a casa adornou de pedras preciosas, para ornamento; e o ouro era ouro de Parvaim.

6And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold {was} gold of Parvaim. {garnished: Heb. covered}

7Também na casa revestiu, com ouro, as traves, os umbrais, as suas paredes e as suas portas; e lavrou querubins nas paredes.

7He overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls.

8Fez mais a casa do lugar santíssimo, cujo comprimento, segundo a largura da casa, era de vinte côvados, e também a largura de vinte côvados; e revestiu-a de ouro fino, do peso de seiscentos talentos.

8And he made the most holy house, the length whereof {was} according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits: and he overlaid it with fine gold, {amounting} to six hundred talents.

9O peso dos pregos era de cinqüenta siclos de ouro; e as câmaras cobriu de ouro.

9And the weight of the nails {was} fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.

10Também fez na casa do lugar santíssimo dois querubins de obra móvel, e cobriu-os de ouro.

10And in the most holy house he made two cherubims of image work, and overlaid them with gold. {image...: or, (as some think) of moveable work}

11E, quanto às asas dos querubins, o seu comprimento era de vinte côvados; a asa de um deles, de cinco côvados, e tocava na parede da casa; e a outra asa de cinco côvados, e tocava na asa do outro querubim.

11And the wings of the cherubims {were} twenty cubits long: one wing {of the one cherub was} five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing {was likewise} five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.

12Também a asa do outro querubim era de cinco côvados, e tocava na parede da casa; era também a outra asa de cinco côvados, que tocava na asa do outro querubim.

12And {one} wing of the other cherub {was} five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing {was} five cubits {also}, joining to the wing of the other cherub.

13E as asas destes querubins se estendiam vinte côvados; e estavam postos em pé, e os seus rostos virados para a casa.

13The wings of these cherubims spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces {were} inward. {inward: or, toward the house}

14Também fez o véu de azul, púrpura, carmesim e linho fino; e pôs sobre ele querubins;

14And he made the vail {of} blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubims thereon. {wrought: Heb. caused to ascend}

15Fez também, diante da casa, duas colunas de trinta e cinco côvados de altura; e o capitel, que estava sobre cada uma, era de cinco côvados.

15Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the chapiter that {was} on the top of each of them {was} five cubits. {high: Heb. long}

16Também fez cadeias no oráculo, e as pôs sobre as cabeças das colunas; fez também cem romãs, as quais pôs entre as cadeias.

16And he made chains, {as} in the oracle, and put {them} on the heads of the pillars; and made an hundred pomegranates, and put {them} on the chains.

17E levantou as colunas diante do templo, uma à direita, e outra à esquerda; e chamou o nome da que estava à direita Jaquim, e o nome da que estava à esquerda Boaz.

17And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz. {Jachin: that is, He shall establish} {Boaz: that is, In it is strength}
