2 Crônicas 27

1Tinha Jotão vinte e cinco anos de idade, quando começou a reinar, e reinou dezesseis anos em Jerusalém; e era o nome de sua mãe Jerusa, filha de Zadoque.

1Jotham {was} twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also {was} Jerushah, the daughter of Zadok.

2E fez o que era reto aos olhos do Senhor, conforme a tudo o que fizera Uzias, seu pai, exceto que não entrou no templo do Senhor. E o povo ainda se corrompia.

2And he did {that which was} right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah did: howbeit he entered not into the temple of the LORD. And the people did yet corruptly.

3Ele edificou a porta superior da casa do Senhor, e também edificou muitas obras sobre o muro de Ofel.

3He built the high gate of the house of the LORD, and on the wall of Ophel he built much. {Ophel: or, the tower}

4Também edificou cidades nas montanhas de Judá, e castelos e torres nos bosques.

4Moreover he built cities in the mountains of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.

5Ele também guerreou contra o rei dos filhos de Amom, e prevaleceu sobre eles, de modo que os filhos de Amom naquele ano lhe deram cem talentos de prata, e dez mil coros de trigo, e dez mil de cevada; isto lhe trouxeram os filhos de Amom também no segundo e no terceiro ano.

5He fought also with the king of the Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the children of Ammon gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of Ammon pay unto him, both the second year, and the third. {So...: Heb. This}

6Assim se fortificou Jotão, porque dirigiu os seus caminhos na presença do Senhor seu Deus.

6So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God. {prepared: or, established}

7Ora, o restante dos atos de Jotão, e todas as suas guerras e os seus caminhos, eis que estão escritos no livro dos reis de Israel e de Judá.

7Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, lo, they {are} written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

8He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.

9E dormiu Jotão com seus pais, e sepultaram-no na cidade de Davi; e Acaz, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

9And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
