1Muitos navegam até as competições por coroas corruptíveis, mas nem todos são coroados, apenas os que labutaram muito e competiram nobremente.

1Many sail to the competitions for corruptible crowns, but not all are crowned, only those who labored much and competed nobly.

2Lutemos, pois, para que todos sejamos coroados.

2Let us strive, therefore, that we may all be crowned.

3Corramos o caminho reto, a corrida incorruptível.

3Let us run the straight road, the incorruptible race.

4E muitos de nós navegaremos para ela e lutaremos para sermos coroados.

4And many of us will sail to it and strive to be crowned.

5E se não pudermos ser coroados todos, pelo menos cheguemos perto da coroa.

5And if we cannot all be crowned, let us at least come near to the crown.

6Devemos saber que aquele que luta na corrida corruptível, se for pego trapaceando, é açoitado e expulso do estádio.

6We must know that he who strives in the corruptible race, if he is caught cheating, is beaten and thrown out of the stadium.

7O que pensais? Que acontecerá ao que corrompe a corrida da incorruptibilidade?

7What do you think? What will happen to him who corrupts the race of incorruptibility?

8Sobre os que não guardaram o selo do batismo, diz: Seu verme não morrerá e seu fogo não se apagará, e serão um espetáculo para toda carne.

8Concerning those who did not keep the seal of baptism, it says: Their worm shall not die and their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be a spectacle to all flesh.
