2 Clemente 5

1Por isso, irmãos, abandonando nossa peregrinação neste mundo, façamos a vontade daquele que nos chamou e não temamos sair deste mundo.

1Therefore, brethren, leaving our sojourn in this world, let us do the will of him who called us and let us not fear to go out of this world.

2Porque o Senhor disse: Sereis como cordeiros no meio de lobos.

2For the Lord said: You shall be as lambs in the midst of wolves.

3Mas Pedro respondeu: E se os lobos despedaçarem os cordeiros?

3But Peter answered: And what if the wolves tear the lambs apart?

4Jesus disse a Pedro: Os cordeiros não devem temer os lobos depois de mortos.

4Jesus said to Peter: The lambs should not fear the wolves after they are dead.

5E vós, não temais os que vos matam e nada mais podem fazer.

5And you, do not fear those who kill you and can do nothing more.

6Mas temei aquele que, depois de morrerdes, tem poder sobre alma e corpo para lançá-los na geena de fogo.

6But fear him who, after you die, has power over soul and body to cast them into the gehenna of fire.

7E sabei, irmãos, que nossa passagem nesta carne neste mundo é pequena e de curta duração.

7And know, brethren, that our sojourn in this flesh in this world is small and of short duration.

8Mas a promessa de Cristo é grande e maravilhosa: o descanso do reino vindouro e a vida eterna.

8But the promise of Christ is great and wonderful: the rest of the coming kingdom and eternal life.
