2 Clemente 4

1Não chamemos, portanto, somente Senhor a ele, porque isso não nos salvará.

1Let us not, therefore, call him Lord only, for that will not save us.

2Porque ele diz: Nem todo o que me diz Senhor, Senhor, será salvo, mas aquele que pratica a justiça.

2For he says: Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, shall be saved, but he who does righteousness.

3Portanto, irmãos, confessemo-lo em obras, amando-nos uns aos outros.

3Therefore, brethren, let us confess him in works, loving one another.

4Não adulterando, nem caluniando uns aos outros, nem invejando.

4Not committing adultery, nor slandering one another, nor envying.

5Mas sendo continentes, misericordiosos, bondosos.

5But being continent, merciful, kind.

6E devemos compadecer-nos uns dos outros e não ser avarentos.

6And we should have compassion on one another and not be greedy.

7Por estas obras o confessemos e não pelo contrário.

7By these works let us confess him and not by the contrary.

8E não devemos temer mais aos homens do que a Deus.

8And we should not fear men more than God.
