2 Clemente 19

1Eu, portanto, não sendo pecador superior e ainda não tendo escapado da tentação, mas ainda estando no meio das armadilhas do diabo.

1I, therefore, not being a superior sinner and not yet having escaped from temptation, but still being in the midst of the snares of the devil.

2Esforço-me por seguir a justiça para ter força ao menos para chegar perto dela.

2I strive to follow righteousness that I may have strength at least to come near to it.

3Temendo o juízo vindouro.

3Fearing the coming judgment.

4Portanto, irmãos e irmãs, depois do Deus da verdade, eu vos leio uma exortação para prestardes atenção ao que está escrito.

4Therefore, brothers and sisters, after the God of truth, I read to you an exhortation to pay attention to what is written.

5Para que salvéis a vós mesmos e ao que lê entre vós.

5That you may save both yourselves and him who reads among you.

6Pois como recompensa vos peço que vos arrependais de todo o coração.

6For as a reward I ask you to repent from your whole heart.

7Dando a vós mesmos salvação e vida.

7Giving to yourselves salvation and life.

8Pois fazendo isto estabeleceremos um objetivo para todos os jovens que desejam trabalhar na piedade e na bondade de Deus.

8For by doing this we shall set a goal for all the young who wish to labor in piety and in the goodness of God.
