2 Clemente 18

1E não pensemos prestar atenção e crer somente agora, enquanto somos aconselhados pelos anciãos.

1And let us not think to pay attention and believe only now, while we are being admonished by the elders.

2Mas também quando formos para casa, lembremo-nos dos mandamentos do Senhor.

2But also when we go home, let us remember the commandments of the Lord.

3E não nos deixemos arrastar para trás pelos desejos mundanos.

3And let us not be dragged back by worldly desires.

4Mas vindo mais amiúde, esforcemo-nos por avançar nos mandamentos do Senhor.

4But coming more frequently, let us strive to advance in the commandments of the Lord.

5Para que todos, tendo o mesmo pensamento, sejamos reunidos para a vida.

5That we all, having the same mind, may be gathered together for life.

6Pois o Senhor disse: Venho reunir todas as nações, tribos e línguas.

6For the Lord said: I come to gather all nations, tribes and tongues.

7Isto fala do dia de sua manifestação, quando virá e nos resgatará, cada um segundo suas obras.

7This speaks of the day of his appearing, when he will come and redeem us, each according to his works.

8E os incrédulos verão sua glória e sua força, e ficarão perplexos quando virem o reino do mundo em Jesus, dizendo: Ai de nós, porque tu eras, e não conhecemos nem cremos, nem obedecemos aos anciãos que nos anunciavam a nossa salvação.

8And the unbelievers shall see his glory and his strength, and shall be perplexed when they see the kingdom of the world in Jesus, saying: Woe to us, for you were, and we did not know nor believe, nor obey the elders who announced our salvation to us.
