2 Clemente 16

1Porque tanto prazer estas palavras trazem aos que as praticam, quanto condenação aos que desobedecem.

1For as much pleasure as these words bring to those who practice them, so much condemnation to those who disobey.

2Portanto, irmãos, tendo recebido ocasião não pequena para o arrependimento.

2Therefore, brethren, having received no small opportunity for repentance.

3Já que temos tempo, voltemo-nos para Deus que nos chamou, enquanto ainda temos quem nos receba.

3Since we have time, let us turn to God who called us, while we still have one who receives us.

4Porque se renunciarmos a estes prazeres e vencermos nossa alma em não fazer suas más inclinações.

4For if we renounce these pleasures and conquer our soul in not doing its evil inclinations.

5Participaremos da misericórdia de Jesus.

5We shall participate in the mercy of Jesus.

6Mas sabeis que o dia do juízo já vem como forno ardente.

6But know that the day of judgment already comes as a burning furnace.

7E alguns céus se derreterão e toda a terra será como chumbo derretido no fogo.

7And some of the heavens shall melt and all the earth shall be like lead melting in fire.

8E então aparecerão as obras secretas e públicas dos homens.

8And then the secret and public works of men shall appear.
