2 Clemente 15

1E não me parece que dei conselho sem importância sobre a continência, e quem o seguir não se arrependerá, mas salvará a si mesmo e a mim que o aconselhei.

1And it does not seem to me that I have given unimportant counsel about continence, and whoever follows it will not regret it, but will save both himself and me who counseled him.

2Porque não é pequena recompensa fazer voltar uma alma errante e perdiada para que seja salva.

2For it is no small reward to turn back an erring and perishing soul that it may be saved.

3Pois esta é a retribuição que podemos dar a Deus que nos criou.

3For this is the recompense we can give to God who created us.

4Se aquele que fala e ouve fala e ouve com fé e amor.

4If he who speaks and hears speaks and hears with faith and love.

5Permaneçamos, portanto, naquilo em que cremos, justos e santos, para que com confiança possamos pedir a Deus que diz: Enquanto ainda falas, direi: Eis-me aqui.

5Let us therefore remain in what we have believed, righteous and holy, that with confidence we may ask God who says: While you are still speaking, I will say: Behold, I am here.

6Porque esta palavra é sinal de grande promessa.

6For this word is a sign of great promise.

7Pois o Senhor diz que está mais pronto a dar do que nós a pedir.

7For the Lord says he is more ready to give than we to ask.

8Sendo, portanto, participantes de tão grande bondade, não invejemos uns aos outros ao obter tantos bens.

8Being, therefore, partakers of such great kindness, let us not begrudge one another the attainment of so many good things.
