2 Baruque 84

1Contemplar! Portanto, eu vos dei a conhecer (estas coisas) enquanto vivo; pois disse que, acima de tudo, devíeis aprender os mandamentos do Poderoso, nos quais eu vos instruirei; e colocarei diante de vocês alguns dos mandamentos de Seu julgamento antes de morrer.

1Behold! I have therefore made known unto you (these things) whilst I live: for I have said that ye should above all thngs learn the commandments of the Mighty One, wherein I shall instruct you; and I will set before you some of the commandments of His judgement before I die.

2Lembre-se de que anteriormente Moisés certamente chamou o céu e a terra para testemunhar contra você e disse: “se transgredirdes a lei, sereis dispersos, mas se a guardardes, sereis guardados”.

2Remember that formerly Moses assuredly called heaven and earth to witness against you and said: "if ye transgress the law ye shall be dispersed, but if ye keep it ye shall be kept."

3E outras coisas também ele costumava dizer-vos quando vós, as doze tribos, estávamos reunidos no deserto.

3And other things also he used to say unto you when ye the twelve tribes were together in the desert.

4E depois de sua morte vocês os rejeitaram: por isso aconteceu com vocês o que havia sido predito.

4And after his death ye cast them away from you: on this account there came upon you what had been predicted.

5E agora Moisés costumava contar a você antes que eles acontecessem com você, e eis! elas vos sobrevieram; porque abandonastes a lei.

5And now Moses used to tell you before they befell you, and lo! they have befallen you: for ye have forsaken the law.

6Veja! Digo-vos também, depois de sofrerdes, que se obedecerdes às coisas que vos foram ditas, recebereis do Poderoso tudo o que foi estabelecido e reservado para vós.

6Lo! I also say unto you after ye have suffered, that if ye obey those things which have been said unto you, ye will receive from the Mighty One whatever has been laid up and reserved for you.

7Além disso, que esta epístola sirva de testemunho entre mim e vós, para que vos lembreis dos mandamentos do Poderoso, e para que também haja para mim uma defesa na presença daquele que me enviou.

7Moreover, let this epistle be for a testimony between me and you, that ye may remember the commandments of the Mighty One, and that also there may be to me a defence in the presence of Him who sent me.

8E lembrem-se da lei e de Sião, e da terra santa e de seus irmãos, e do convênio de seus pais, e não se esqueçam das festas e dos sábados.

8And remember ye the law and Zion, and the holy land and your brethren, and the covenant of your fathers, and forget not the festivals and the sabbaths.

9E entregue esta epístola e as tradições da lei a seus filhos depois de você, como também seus pais os entregaram a você.

9And deliver ye this epistle and the traditions of the law to your sons after you, as also your fathers delivered (them) to you.

10E em todos os momentos peça com perseverança e ore diligentemente de todo o coração para que o Poderoso se reconcilie com você, e para que Ele não considere a multidão de seus pecados, mas lembre-se da retidão de seus pais.

10And at all times make request perseveringly and pray diligently with your whole heart that the Mighty One may be reconciled to you, and that He may not reckon the multitude of your sins, but remember the rectitude of your fathers.

11Pois se Ele não nos julgar de acordo com a multidão de Suas misericórdias, ai de todos nós que nascemos. [

11For if He judge us not according to the multitude of His mercies, woe unto all us who are born. [
