2 Baruque 82

1Portanto, meus irmãos, escrevo-vos, para que vos consoleis na multidão das vossas tribulações.

1Therefore, my brethren, I have written to you, that ye may comfort yourselves regarding the multitude of your tribulations.

2Pois sabeis que nosso Criador certamente nos vingará de todos os nossos inimigos, de acordo com tudo o que eles nos fizeram, também que a consumação que o Altíssimo fará está muito próxima, e Sua misericórdia que está chegando, e a consumação de Seu julgamento não está de forma alguma distante.

2For know ye that our Maker will assuredly avenge us on all our enemies, according to all that they have done to us, also that the consummation which the Most High will make is very nigh, and His mercy that is coming, and the consummation of His judgement is by no means far off.

3Pois eis! vemos agora a multidão da prosperidade dos gentios, embora ajam impiamente, mas serão como um vapor:

3For lo! we see now the multitude of the prosperity of the Gentiles, though they act impiously, but they will be like a vapour:

4E contemplamos a multidão de seu poder, embora eles pratiquem o mal, mas serão transformados em gotas:

4And we behold the multitude of their power, though they do wickedly, but they will be made like unto a drop:

5E vemos a firmeza do seu poder, embora resistam ao Poderoso a cada hora, mas serão considerados como saliva.

5And we see the firmness of their might, though they resist the Mighty One every hour, but they will be accounted as spittle.

6E consideramos a glória da sua grandeza, embora não guardem os estatutos do Altíssimo, mas passarão como fumaça.

6And we consider the glory of their greatness, though they do not keep the statutes of the Most High, but as smoke will they pass away.

7E meditamos na beleza de sua graciosidade, embora tenham a ver com poluições, mas como a grama que murcha, eles desaparecerão.

7And we meditate on the beauty of theirs gracefulness, though they have to do with pollutions, but as grass that withers will they fade away.

8E consideramos a força de sua crueldade, embora eles não se lembrem do fim (dele), mas como uma onda que passa, eles serão quebrados.

8And we consider the strength of their cruelty, though they remember not the end (thereof), but as a wave that passes will they be broken.

9E notamos a arrogância de seu poder, embora neguem a beneficência de Deus, que a deu a eles, mas eles passarão como uma nuvem passageira. [

9And we remark the boastfulness of their might, though they deny the beneficence of God, who gave (it) to them, but they will pass away as a passing cloud. [
