1"E as décimas primeiras águas negras que viste: esta é a calamidade que agora está sobrevindo a Sião.

1"And the black eleventh waters which thou hast seen: this is the calamity which is now befalling Zion.

2Você acha que não há angústia para os anjos na presença do Poderoso, que Sião foi tão entregue, e eis! os gentios se vangloriam em seus corações e se reúnem diante de seus ídolos e dizem: 'É pisada aquela que muitas vezes pisoteou, e foi reduzida à servidão quem reduziu (outros)'?

2Dost thou think that there is no anguish to the angels in the presence of the Mighty One, that Zion was so delivered up, and that lo! the Gentiles boast in their hearts, and assemble before their idols and say, 'She is trodden down who ofttimes trod down, and she has been reduced to servitude who reduced (others)'?

3Pensas que nestas coisas o Altíssimo se alegra, ou que o seu nome é glorificado?

3Dost thou think that in these things the Most High rejoices, Or that His name is glorified?

4Mas como isso servirá para Seu julgamento justo?

4But how will it serve towards His righteous judgement?

5Contudo, depois destas coisas, aqueles que estão dispersos entre os gentios serão apanhados pela tribulação e habitarão envergonhados em todos os lugares.

5Yet after these things shall those that are dispersed among the Gentiles be taken hold of by tribulation, and in shame shall they dwell in every place.

6Porque enquanto Sião for entregue e Jerusalém for devastada, e os ídolos prosperarem nas cidades dos gentios, e o vapor da fumaça do incenso da justiça que é pela lei se extinguir em Sião e na região de Sião em todo lugar, eis! há a fumaça da impiedade.

6Because so far as Zion is delivered up and Jerusalem laid waste, and idols prosper in the cities of the Gentiles, and the vapour of the smoke of the incense of the righteousness which is by the law is extinguished in Zion and in the region of Zion in every place lo! there is the smoke of impiety.

7Mas surgirá o rei da Babilônia, que agora destruiu Sião, e se gloriará sobre o povo e falará grandes coisas em seu coração na presença do Altíssimo.

7But the king of Babylon will arise who has now destroyed Zion, and he will boast over the people, and he will speak great things in his heart in the presence of the Most High.

8Mas ele também cairá finalmente.

8But he also shall fall at last.

9Estas são as águas negras.

9These are the black waters.
