2 Baruque 66

1“E as décimas águas resplandecentes que viste: esta é a pureza das gerações de Josias, rei de Judá, que foi o único naquele tempo que se submeteu ao Poderoso com todo o seu coração e com toda a sua alma.

1"And the bright tenth waters which thou hast seen: this is the purity of the generations of Josiah king of Judah, who was the only one at the time who submitted himself to the Mighty One with all his heart and with all his soul.

2E ele purificou a terra dos ídolos, e santificou todos os vasos que haviam sido poluídos, e restaurou as ofertas ao altar, e levantou o chifre do santo, e exaltou os justos, e honrou todos os que eram sábios em entendimento, e trouxe de volta os sacerdotes ao seu ministério, e destruiu e removeu os mágicos e encantadores e adivinhos da terra.

2And he cleansed the land from idols, and hallowed all the vessels which had been polluted, and restored the offerings to the altar, and raised the horn of the holy, and exalted the righteous, and honoured all that were wise in understanding, and brought back the priests to their ministry, and destroyed and removed the magicians and enchanters and fortune-tellers from the land.

3E ele não apenas matou os ímpios que viviam, mas eles também tiraram dos sepulcros os ossos dos mortos e os queimaram no fogo.

3And not only did he slay the impious that were living, but they also took from the sepulchres the bones of the dead and burned them with fire.

4[E as festas e os sábados ele estabeleceu em sua santidade], e seus poluídos ele queimou no fogo, e os profetas mentirosos que enganaram o povo, estes também ele queimou no fogo, e as pessoas que os ouviram quando viviam, ele os lançou no riacho Cedron e amontoou pedras sobre eles.

4[And the festivals and the sabbaths he established in their sanctity], and their polluted ones he burnt in the fire, and the lying prophets which deceived the people, these also he burnt in the fire, and the people who listened to them when they were living, he cast them into the brook Cedron, and heaped stones upon them.

5E ele foi zeloso com zelo do Poderoso com toda a sua alma, e só ele estava firme na lei naquele tempo, de modo que não deixou ninguém que fosse incircunciso, ou que praticasse impiedade em toda a terra, todos os dias da sua vida.

5And he was zealous with zeal of the Mighty One with all his soul, and he alone was firm in the law at that time, so that he left none that was uncircumcised, or that wrought impiety in all the land, all the days of his life.

6Além disso, este é aquele que receberá uma recompensa eterna e será glorificado com o Poderoso, além de muitos, mais tarde.

6This, moreover, is he that shall receive an eternal reward, and he shall be glorified with the Mighty One beyond many at a later time.

7Pois por conta dele e por conta daqueles que são como ele foram as glórias inestimáveis, das quais te foi dito antes, criadas e preparadas.

7For on his account and on account of those who are like him were the inestimable glories, of which thou wast told before, created and prepared.

8Estas são as águas brilhantes que você viu.

8These are the bright waters which thou hast seen.
