1“E as oitavas águas brilhantes que viste, esta é a retidão e retidão de Ezequias, rei de Judá, e a benignidade que veio sobre ele.

1"And the bright eighth waters which thou hast seen, this is the rectitude and uprightness of Hezekiah king of Judah and the benignity which came upon him.

2Pois quando Senaqueribe foi incitado para que pudesse perecer, e sua ira o perturbou para que assim pudesse perecer, também pela multidão das nações que estavam com ele.

2For when Sennacherib was stirred up in order that he might perish, and his wrath troubled him in order that he might thereby perish, for the multitude also of the nations which were with him.

3Além disso, quando o rei Ezequias ouviu aquelas coisas que o rei da Assíria estava planejando, (ou seja,) vir e prendê-lo e destruir seu povo, as duas tribos e meia que restaram: não, mais ele desejou derrubar Sião também: então Ezequias confiou em suas obras, e teve esperança em sua justiça, e falou com o Poderoso e disse:

3When, moreover, Hezekiah the king heard those things which the king of Assyria was devising, (i.e.) to come and seize him and destroy his people, the two and a half tribes which remained: nay, more he wished to overthrow Zion also: then Hezekiah trusted in his works, and had hope in his righteousness, and spake with the Mighty One and said:

4'Eis que eis! Senaqueribe está preparado para nos destruir e ficará orgulhoso e exaltado quando destruir Sião.'

4'Behold, for lo! Sennacherib is prepared to destroy us, and he will be boastful and uplifted when he has destroyed Zion.'

5E o Poderoso o ouviu, porque Ezequias era sábio, e atendeu à sua oração, porque era justo.

5And the Mighty One heard him, for Hezekiah was wise, And He had respect unto his prayer, because he was righteous.

6E então o Poderoso ordenou a Ramiel, Seu anjo, que fala contigo.

6And thereupon the Mighty One commanded Ramiel His angel who speaks with thee.

7E eu saí e destruí a multidão deles, cujo número de chefes era apenas cento e oitenta e cinco mil, e cada um deles tinha um número igual (sob seu comando).

7And I went forth and destroyed their multitude, the number of whose chiefs only was a hundred and eighty-five thousand, and each one of them had an equal number (at his command).

8E naquela época eu queimei seus corpos por dentro, mas suas vestes e braços eu preservei por fora, para que os feitos ainda mais maravilhosos do Poderoso pudessem aparecer, e para que assim Seu nome pudesse ser falado em toda a terra.

8And at that time I burned their bodies within, but their raiment and arms I preserved outwardly, in order that the still more wonderful deeds of the Mighty One might appear, and that thereby His name might be spoken of throughout the whole earth.

9Além disso, Sião foi salva e Jerusalém libertada: Israel também foi libertado da tribulação.

9Moreover, Zion was saved and Jerusalem delivered: Israel also was freed from tribulation.

10E todos os que estavam na terra santa se alegraram, e o nome do Poderoso foi glorificado de modo que foi falado.

10And all those who were in the holy land rejoiced, and the name of the Mighty One was glorified so that it was spoken of.

11Estas são as águas brilhantes que você viu.

11These are the bright waters which thou hast seen.
