1“E as sétimas águas negras que viste, esta é a perversão (causada) pelo conselho de Jeroboão, que decidiu fazer dois bezerros de ouro.

1"And the black seventh waters which thou bast seen, this is the perversion (brought about) by the counsel of Jeroboam, who took counsel to make two calves of gold.

2E todas as iniqüidades que os reis que vieram depois dele cometeram iniqüamente.

2And all the iniquities which kings who were after him iniquitously wrought.

3E a maldição de Jezabel e a adoração de ídolos que Israel praticava naquela época.

3And the curse of Jezebel and the worship of idols which Israel practised at that time.

4E a retenção da chuva e as fomes que ocorreram até que as mulheres comessem o fruto do seu ventre.

4And the withholding of rain, and the famines which occurred until women eat the fruit of their wombs.

5E o tempo do seu cativeiro que veio sobre as nove tribos e meia, porque estavam em muitos pecados.

5And the time of their captivity which came upon the nine tribes and a half, because they were in many sins.

6E veio Salmanasar, rei da Assíria, e os levou cativos.

6And Salmanasar king of Assyria came and led them away captive.

7Mas em relação aos gentios, era tedioso contar como eles sempre praticavam a impiedade e a maldade, e nunca praticavam a justiça.

7But regarding the Gentiles it were tedious to tell how they always wrought impiety and wickedness, and never wrought righteousness.
