2 Baruque 4

1E o Senhor me disse: 'Esta cidade será entregue por um tempo, e o povo será castigado durante um tempo, e o mundo não será entregue ao esquecimento.

1And the Lord said unto me: 'This city shall be delivered up for a time, and the people will be chastened during a time, and the world will not be given over to oblivion.

2[Você acha que esta é aquela cidade da qual eu disse: “Nas palmas das minhas mãos te gravei”?

2[Dost thou think that this is that city of which I said: "On the palms of My hands have I graven thee"?

3Não é este edifício que agora está sendo construído no meio de vocês; (é) aquilo que será revelado comigo, aquilo que foi preparado de antemão desde o momento em que tomei o conselho de fazer o Paraíso, e o mostrei a Adão antes de ele pecar, mas quando ele transgrediu o mandamento, foi removido dele, como também o Paraíso.

3It is not this building which is now built in your midst; (it is) that which will be revealed with Me, that which was prepared beforehand from the time when I took counsel to make Paradise, and showed it to Adam berfore he sinned, but when he transgressed the commandment, it was removed from him, as also Paradise.

4E depois destas coisas mostrei-o ao meu servo Abraão, de noite, entre as porções das vítimas.

4And after these things I showed it to My servant Abraham by night among the portions of the victims.

5E novamente o mostrei a Moisés no Monte Sinai, quando lhe mostrei a semelhança do tabernáculo e de todos os seus utensílios.

5And again also I showed it to Moses on Mount Sinai when I showed to him the likeness of the tabernacle and all its vessels.

6E agora, eis que está preservado Comigo, como também o Paraíso.

6And now, behold, it is preserved with Me, as also Paradise.

7Vá, portanto, e faça o que eu te ordeno.']

7Go, therefore, and do as I command thee.']
