2 Baruque 24

1Pois eis! chegarão os dias e serão abertos os livros nos quais estão escritos os pecados de todos aqueles que pecaram, e novamente também os tesouros nos quais a justiça de todos aqueles que foram justos na criação está reunida.

1For behold! the days come and the books will be opened in which are written the sins of all those who have sinned, and again also the treasuries in which the righteousness of all those who have been righteous in creation is gathered.

2Pois acontecerá naquele tempo que você verá - e os muitos que estão contigo - a longanimidade do Altíssimo, que tem sido por todas as gerações, que tem sido longânime para com aqueles que nasceram em pecado e são justos.

2For it will come to pass at that time that thou shalt see - and the many that are with thee -the long-suffering of the Most High, which has been throughout all generations, who has been long-suffering towards those born that sin and are righteous."

3E eu respondi e disse: 'Mas, eis! Ó Senhor, ninguém sabe o número das coisas que passaram nem o número das que estão por vir.

3And I answered and said: 'But, behold! O Lord, no one knows the number of those things which have passed nor yet of those things which are to come.

4Pois eu realmente sei o que nos aconteceu, mas não sei o que acontecerá com nossos inimigos, e quando Tu visitarás Tuas obras.'

4For I know indeed that which has befallen us, but what will happen to our enemies I know not, and when Thou wilt visit Thy works.'
