1E o Senhor respondeu e disse-me: 'Com o Altíssimo não se leva em conta muito tempo nem alguns anos.

1And the Lord answered and said unto me: 'With the Most High account is not taken of much time nor of a few years.

2Pois que aproveitou a Adão ter vivido novecentos e trinta anos e transgredido o que lhe foi ordenado?

2For what did it profit Adam that he lived nine hundred and thirty years, and transgressed that which he was commanded?

3Portanto, a multidão de tempo que ele viveu não lhe beneficiou, mas trouxe a morte e cortou os anos daqueles que dele nasceram.

3Therefore the multitude of time that he lived did not profit him, but brought death and cut off the years of those who were born from him.

4Ou onde Moisés sofreu perda por ter vivido apenas cento e vinte anos e, na medida em que estava sujeito Àquele que o formou, trouxe a lei à semente de Jacó e acendeu uma lâmpada para a nação de Israel?

4Or wherein did Moses suffer loss in that he lived only one hundred and twenty years, and, inasmuch as he was subject to Him who formed him, brought the law to the seed of Jacob, and lighted a lamp for the nation of Israel?'
