1 Timóteo 2

1Admoesto-te, pois, antes de tudo, que se façam deprecações, orações, intercessões, e ações de graças, por todos os homens;

1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, {and} giving of thanks, be made for all men; {exhort: or, desire}

2Pelos reis, e por todos os que estão em eminência, para que tenhamos uma vida quieta e sossegada, em toda a piedade e honestidade;

2For kings, and {for} all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. {authority: or, eminent place}

3Porque isto é bom e agradável diante de Deus nosso Salvador,

3For this {is} good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4Que quer que todos os homens se salvem, e venham ao conhecimento da verdade.

4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

5Porque há um só Deus, e um só Mediador entre Deus e os homens, Jesus Cristo homem.

5For {there is} one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

6O qual se deu a si mesmo em preço de redenção por todos, para servir de testemunho a seu tempo.

6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. {to...: or, a testimony}

7Para o que (digo a verdade em Cristo, não minto) fui constituído pregador, e apóstolo, e doutor dos gentios na fé e na verdade.

7Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, {and} lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

8Quero, pois, que os homens orem em todo o lugar, levantando mãos santas, sem ira nem contenda.

8I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

9Que do mesmo modo as mulheres se ataviem em traje honesto, com pudor e modéstia, não com tranças, ou com ouro, ou pérolas, ou vestidos preciosos,

9In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; {broided: or, plaited}

10Mas (como convém a mulheres que fazem profissão de servir a Deus) com boas obras.

10But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

11A mulher aprenda em silêncio, com toda a sujeição.

11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12Não permito, porém, que a mulher ensine, nem use de autoridade sobre o marido, mas que esteja em silêncio.

12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13Porque primeiro foi formado Adão, depois Eva.

13For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14E Adão não foi enganado, mas a mulher, sendo enganada, caiu em transgressão.

14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15Salvar-se-á, porém, dando à luz filhos, se permanecer com modéstia na fé, no amor e na santificação.

15Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
