1 Samuel 19

1E falou Saul a Jônatas, seu filho, e a todos os seus servos, para que matassem a Davi. Porém Jônatas, filho de Saul, estava mui afeiçoado a Davi.

1And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.

2E Jônatas o anunciou a Davi, dizendo: Meu pai, Saul, procura matar-te, pelo que agora guarda-te pela manhã, e fica-te em oculto, e esconde-te.

2But Jonathan Saul's son delighted much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and abide in a secret {place}, and hide thyself:

3E sairei eu, e estarei à mão de meu pai no campo em que estiverdes, e eu falarei de ti a meu pai, e verei o que há, e to anunciarei.

3And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou {art}, and I will commune with my father of thee; and what I see, that I will tell thee.

4Então Jônatas falou bem de Davi a Saul, seu pai, e disse-lhe: Não peque o rei contra seu servo Davi, porque ele não pecou contra ti, e porque os seus feitos te são muito bons.

4And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works {have been} to thee-ward very good:

5Porque expôs a sua vida, e feriu aos filisteus, e fez o Senhor um grande livramento a todo o Israel; tu mesmo o viste, e te alegraste; porque, pois, pecarias contra o sangue inocente, matando a Davi, sem causa?

5For he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest {it}, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?

6E Saul deu ouvidos à voz de Jônatas, e jurou Saul: Vive o Senhor, que não morrerá.

6And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, {As} the LORD liveth, he shall not be slain.

7E Jônatas chamou a Davi, e contou-lhe todas estas palavras; e Jônatas levou Davi a Saul, e esteve perante ele como antes.

7And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan shewed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past. {in times...: Heb. yesterday, third day}

8E tornou a haver guerra; e saiu Davi, e pelejou contra os filisteus, e feriu-os com grande matança, e fugiram diante dele.

8And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled from him. {him: Heb. his face}

9Porém o espírito mau da parte do Senhor se tornou sobre Saul, estando ele assentado em sua casa, e tendo na mão a sua lança; e tocava Davi com a mão, a harpa.

9And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with {his} hand.

10E procurou Saul encravar a Davi na parede, porém ele se desviou de diante de Saul, o qual feriu com a lança a parede; então fugiu Davi, e escapou naquela mesma noite.

10And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.

11Porém Saul mandou mensageiros à casa de Davi, que o guardassem, e o matassem pela manhã; do que Mical, sua mulher, avisou a Davi, dizendo: Se não salvares a tua vida esta noite, amanhã te matarão.

11Saul also sent messengers unto David's house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David's wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.

12Então Mical desceu a Davi por uma janela; e ele se foi, e fugiu, e escapou.

12So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.

13E Mical tomou uma estátua e a deitou na cama, e pôs-lhe à cabeceira uma pele de cabra, e a cobriu com uma coberta.

13And Michal took an image, and laid {it} in the bed, and put a pillow of goats' {hair} for his bolster, and covered {it} with a cloth. {image: Heb. teraphim}

14E, mandando Saul mensageiros que trouxessem a Davi, ela disse: Está doente.

14And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He {is} sick.

15Então Saul tornou a mandar mensageiros que fossem a Davi, dizendo: Trazei-mo na cama, para que o mate.

15And Saul sent the messengers {again} to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.

16Vindo, pois, os mensageiros, eis que a estátua estava na cama, e a pele de cabra à sua cabeceira.

16And when the messengers were come in, behold, {there was} an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats' {hair} for his bolster.

17Então disse Saul a Mical: Por que assim me enganaste, e deixaste ir e escapar o meu inimigo? E disse Mical a Saul: Porque ele me disse: Deixa-me ir, por que hei de eu matar-te?

17And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?

18Assim Davi fugiu e escapou, e foi a Samuel, em Ramá, e lhe participou tudo quanto Saul lhe fizera; e foram, ele e Samuel, e ficaram em Naiote.

18So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.

19E o anunciaram a Saul, dizendo: Eis que Davi está em Naiote, em Ramá.

19And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David {is} at Naioth in Ramah.

20Então enviou Saul mensageiros para trazerem a Davi, os quais viram uma congregação de profetas profetizando, onde estava Samuel que presidia sobre eles; e o Espírito de Deus veio sobre os mensageiros de Saul, e também eles profetizaram.

20And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing {as} appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.

21E, avisado disto Saul, enviou outros mensageiros, e também estes profetizaram; então enviou Saul ainda uns terceiros mensageiros, os quais também profetizaram.

21And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.

22Então foi também ele mesmo a Ramá, e chegou ao poço grande que estava em Secu; e, perguntando, disse: Onde estão Samuel e Davi? E disseram-lhe: Eis que estão em Naiote, em Ramá.

22Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that {is} in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where {are} Samuel and David? And {one} said, Behold, {they be} at Naioth in Ramah.

23Então foi para Naiote, em Ramá; e o mesmo Espírito de Deus veio sobre ele, e ia profetizando, até chegar a Naiote, em Ramá.

23And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.

24E ele também despiu as suas vestes, e profetizou diante de Samuel, e esteve nu por terra todo aquele dia e toda aquela noite; por isso se diz: Está também Saul entre os profetas?

24And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, {Is} Saul also among the prophets? {lay: Heb. fell}
