1E ouvindo a rainha de Sabá a fama de Salomão, acerca do nome do SENHOR, veio prová-lo com questões difíceis.

1And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.

2E chegou a Jerusalém com uma grande comitiva; com camelos carregados de especiarias, e muitíssimo ouro, e pedras preciosas; e foi a Salomão, e disse-lhe tudo quanto tinha no seu coração.

2And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

3E Salomão lhe deu resposta a todas as suas perguntas, nada houve que não lhe pudesse esclarecer.

3And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not {any} thing hid from the king, which he told her not. {questions: Heb. words}

4Vendo, pois, a rainha de Sabá toda a sabedoria de Salomão, e a casa que edificara,

4And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,

5E a comida da sua mesa, e o assentar de seus servos, e o estar de seus criados, e as vestes deles, e os seus copeiros, e os holocaustos que ele oferecia na casa do Senhor, ficou fora de si.

5And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her. {attendance: Heb. standing} {cupbearers: or, butlers}

6E disse ao rei: Era verdade a palavra que ouvi na minha terra, dos teus feitos e da tua sabedoria.

6And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom. {report: Heb. word} {acts: or, sayings}

7E eu não cria naquelas palavras, até que vim e os meus olhos o viram; eis que não me disseram metade; sobrepujaste em sabedoria e bens a fama que ouvi.

7Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen {it}: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard. {thy...: Heb. thou hast added wisdom and goodness to}

8Bem-aventurados os teus homens, bem-aventurados estes teus servos, que estão sempre diante de ti, que ouvem a tua sabedoria!

8Happy {are} thy men, happy {are} these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, {and} that hear thy wisdom.

9Bendito seja o Senhor teu Deus, que teve agrado em ti, para te pôr no trono de Israel; porque o Senhor ama a Israel para sempre, por isso te estabeleceu rei, para fazeres juízo e justiça.

9Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.

10E deu ao rei cento e vinte talentos de ouro, e muitíssimas especiarias, e pedras preciosas; nunca veio especiaria em tanta abundância, como a que a rainha de Sabá deu ao rei Salomão.

10And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

11Também as naus de Hirão, que de Ofir levavam ouro, traziam de Ofir muita madeira de almugue, e pedras preciosas.

11And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones. {almug...: also called, algum trees}

12E desta madeira de almugue fez o rei balaústres para a casa do Senhor, e para a casa do rei, como também harpas e alaúdes para os cantores; nunca veio tal madeira de almugue, nem se viu até o dia de hoje.

12And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day. {pillars: or, rails: Heb. a prop}

13E o rei Salomão deu à rainha de Sabá tudo o que ela desejou, tudo quanto pediu, além do que dera por sua generosidade; então voltou e partiu para a sua terra, ela e os seus servos.

13And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside {that} which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants. {of his...: Heb. according to the hand of king Solomon}

14E o peso do ouro que se trazia a Salomão cada ano era de seiscentos e sessenta e seis talentos de ouro;

14Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,

15Além do que entrava dos negociantes, e do contrato dos especieiros, e de todos os reis da Arábia, e dos governadores da mesma terra.

15Beside {that he had} of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country. {governors: or, captains}

16Também o rei Salomão fez duzentos paveses de ouro batido; seiscentos siclos de ouro destinou para cada pavês;

16And king Solomon made two hundred targets {of} beaten gold: six hundred {shekels} of gold went to one target.

17Fez também trezentos escudos de ouro batido; três arráteis de ouro destinou para cada escudo; e o rei os pôs na casa do bosque do Líbano.

17And {he made} three hundred shields {of} beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

18Fez mais o rei um grande trono de marfim, e o revestiu de ouro puríssimo.

18Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.

19Tinha este trono seis degraus, e era o alto do trono por detrás redondo, e de ambos os lados tinha encostos até ao assento; e dois leões, em pé, juntos aos encostos.

19The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne {was} round behind: and {there were} stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays. {behind: Heb. on the hinder part thereof} {stays: Heb. hands}

20Também doze leões estavam ali sobre os seis degraus de ambos os lados; nunca se tinha feito obra semelhante em nenhum dos reinos.

20And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom. {the like: Heb. so}

21Também todas as taças de beber do rei Salomão eram de ouro, e todos os vasos da casa do bosque do Líbano eram de ouro puro; não havia neles prata, porque nos dias de Salomão não tinha valor algum.

21And all king Solomon's drinking vessels {were of} gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon {were of} pure gold; none {were of} silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. {none...: or, there was no silver in them}

22Porque o rei tinha no mar as naus de Társis, com as naus de Hirão; uma vez em três anos tornavam as naus de Társis, e traziam ouro e prata, marfim, e bugios, e pavões.

22For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. {ivory: or, elephants' teeth}

23Assim o rei Salomão excedeu a todos os reis da terra, tanto em riquezas como em sabedoria.

23So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.

24E toda a terra buscava a face de Salomão, para ouvir a sabedoria que Deus tinha posto no seu coração.

24And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. {sought to: Heb. sought the face of}

25E cada um trazia o seu presente, vasos de prata e vasos de ouro, e roupas, e armaduras, e especiarias, cavalos e mulas; isso faziam de ano em ano.

25And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

26Também ajuntou Salomão carros e cavaleiros, de sorte que tinha mil e quatrocentos carros e doze mil cavaleiros; e os levou às cidades dos carros, e junto ao rei em Jerusalém.

26And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.

27E fez o rei que em Jerusalém houvesse prata como pedras; e cedros em abundância como sicômoros que estão nas planícies.

27And the king made silver {to be} in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he {to be} as the sycomore trees that {are} in the vale, for abundance. {made: Heb. gave}

28E traziam do Egito, para Salomão, cavalos e fio de linho; e os mercadores do rei recebiam o fio de linho, por um certo preço.

28And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price. {And Solomon...: Heb. And the going forth of the horses which was Solomon's}

29E subia e saía um carro do Egito por seiscentos siclos de prata, e um cavalo por cento e cinqüenta; e assim, por meio deles, eram exportados para todos os reis dos heteus e para os reis da Síria.

29And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred {shekels} of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring {them} out by their means. {by their...: Heb. by their hand}
