1 João 1

1O que era desde o princípio, o que ouvimos, o que vimos com os nossos olhos, o que temos contemplado, e as nossas mãos tocaram da Palavra da vida

1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

2(Porque a vida foi manifestada, e nós a vimos, e testificamos dela, e vos anunciamos a vida eterna, que estava com o Pai, e nos foi manifestada);

2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen {it}, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

3O que vimos e ouvimos, isso vos anunciamos, para que também tenhais comunhão conosco; e a nossa comunhão é com o Pai, e com seu Filho Jesus Cristo.

3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship {is} with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

4Estas coisas vos escrevemos, para que o vosso gozo se cumpra.

4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

5E esta é a mensagem que dele ouvimos, e vos anunciamos: que Deus é luz, e não há nele trevas nenhumas.

5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6Se dissermos que temos comunhão com ele, e andarmos em trevas, mentimos, e não praticamos a verdade.

6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7Mas, se andarmos na luz, como ele na luz está, temos comunhão uns com os outros, e o sangue de Jesus Cristo, seu Filho, nos purifica de todo o pecado.

7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8Se dissermos que não temos pecado, enganamo-nos a nós mesmos, e não há verdade em nós.

8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9Se confessarmos os nossos pecados, ele é fiel e justo para nos perdoar os pecados, e nos purificar de toda a injustiça.

9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us {our} sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10Se dissermos que não pecamos, fazemo-lo mentiroso, e a sua palavra não está em nós.

10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
