1 Esdras 6

1Ora, no segundo ano do reinado de Dario Aggeu e Zacarias, filho de Addo, os profetas, profetizaram aos judeus nos judeus e em Jerusalém, em nome do Senhor Deus de Israel, que estava sobre eles.

1Now in the second year of the reign of Darius Aggeus and Zacharias the son of Addo, the prophets, prophesied unto the Jews in Jewry and Jerusalem in the name of the Lord God of Israel, which was upon them.

2Então se levantaram Zorobabel, filho de Salatiel, e Jesus, filho de Josedec, e começaram a edificar a casa do Senhor em Jerusalém, estando com eles os profetas do Senhor, e ajudando-os.

2Then stood up Zorobabel the son of Salatiel, and Jesus the son of Josedec, and began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem, the prophets of the Lord being with them, and helping them.

3Ao mesmo tempo, aproximou-se deles Sisinnes, governador da Síria e Fenice, com Sathrabuzanes e seus companheiros, e disse-lhes:

3At the same time came unto them Sisinnes the governor of Syria and Phenice, with Sathrabuzanes and his companions, and said unto them,

4Com o propósito de quem edificais esta casa e este telhado, e fazeis todas as outras coisas? E quem são os obreiros que fazem estas coisas?

4By whose appointment do ye build this house and this roof, and perform all the other things? and who are the workmen that perform these things?

5No entanto, os anciãos dos judeus obtiveram favor, porque o Senhor havia visitado o cativeiro;

5Nevertheless the elders of the Jews obtained favour, because the Lord had visited the captivity;

6E eles não foram impedidos de construir, até o momento em que o significado foi dado a Dario a respeito deles, e uma resposta recebida.

6And they were not hindered from building, until such time as signification was given unto Darius concerning them, and an answer received.

7A cópia das cartas que Sisinnes, governador da Síria e Fenícia, e Sathrabuzanes, com seus companheiros, governantes da Síria e Fenícia, escreveram e enviaram a Dario; Ao rei Dario, saudação:

7The copy of the letters which Sisinnes, governor of Syria and Phenice, and Sathrabuzanes, with their companions, rulers in Syria and Phenice, wrote and sent unto Darius; To king Darius, greeting:

8Que tudo seja conhecido a nosso senhor, o rei, que entrando na terra da Judéia, e entrando na cidade de Jerusalém, encontramos na cidade de Jerusalém os anciãos dos judeus que eram do cativeiro.

8Let all things be known unto our lord the king, that being come into the country of Judea, and entered into the city of Jerusalem we found in the city of Jerusalem the ancients of the Jews that were of the captivity

9Edificar uma casa ao Senhor, grande e nova, de pedras lavradas e caras, e a madeira já colocada sobre os muros.

9Building an house unto the Lord, great and new, of hewn and costly stones, and the timber already laid upon the walls.

10E essas obras são feitas com grande velocidade, e a obra continua próspera em suas mãos, e com toda a glória e diligência é feita.

10And those works are done with great speed, and the work goeth on prosperously in their hands, and with all glory and diligence is it made.

11Perguntamos, pois, a estes anciãos, dizendo: Por mandamento de quem edificais esta casa, e lançais os fundamentos destas obras?

11Then asked we these elders, saying, By whose commandment build ye this house, and lay the foundations of these works?

12Portanto, com a intenção de que pudéssemos dar conhecimento a ti por escrito, exigimos deles que eram os principais executores, e exigimos deles os nomes por escrito de seus principais homens.

12Therefore to the intent that we might give knowledge unto thee by writing, we demanded of them who were the chief doers, and we required of them the names in writing of their principal men.

13Então eles nos deram esta resposta: Nós somos os servos do Senhor que fez o céu e a terra.

13So they gave us this answer, We are the servants of the Lord which made heaven and earth.

14E quanto a esta casa, foi construída há muitos anos por um rei de Israel grande e forte, e foi terminada.

14And as for this house, it was builded many years ago by a king of Israel great and strong, and was finished.

15Mas quando nossos pais provocaram Deus à ira e pecaram contra o Senhor de Israel que está nos céus, ele os entregou ao poder de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, dos caldeus;

15But when our fathers provoked God unto wrath, and sinned against the Lord of Israel which is in heaven, he gave them over into the power of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, of the Chaldees;

16Que derrubou a casa, queimou-a e levou o povo cativo para a Babilônia.

16Who pulled down the house, and burned it, and carried away the people captives unto Babylon.

17Mas no primeiro ano em que o rei Ciro reinou sobre o país da Babilônia, o rei Ciro escreveu para construir esta casa.

17But in the first year that king Cyrus reigned over the country of Babylon Cyrus the king wrote to build up this house.

18E os vasos sagrados de ouro e de prata, que Nabucodonosor havia levado para fora da casa em Jerusalém, e os havia colocado em seu próprio templo que o rei Ciro trouxe novamente para fora do templo em Babilônia, e eles foram entregues a Zorobabel e ao governante Sanabassarus,

18And the holy vessels of gold and of silver, that Nabuchodonosor had carried away out of the house at Jerusalem, and had set them in his own temple those Cyrus the king brought forth again out of the temple at Babylon, and they were delivered to Zorobabel and to Sanabassarus the ruler,

19Com o mandamento de que levasse os mesmos utensílios e os colocasse no templo de Jerusalém; e que o templo do Senhor fosse construído em seu lugar.

19With commandment that he should carry away the same vessels, and put them in the temple at Jerusalem; and that the temple of the Lord should be built in his place.

20Então o mesmo Sanabassaro, vindo para cá, lançou os alicerces da casa do Senhor em Jerusalém; e desde aquele tempo até este ser ainda um edifício, ainda não está totalmente terminado.

20Then the same Sanabassarus, being come hither, laid the foundations of the house of the Lord at Jerusalem; and from that time to this being still a building, it is not yet fully ended.

21Agora, portanto, se parecer bem ao rei, faça-se uma busca entre os registros do rei Ciro:

21Now therefore, if it seem good unto the king, let search be made among the records of king Cyrus:

22E se for descoberto que a construção da casa do Senhor em Jerusalém foi feita com o consentimento do rei Ciro, e se nosso senhor, o rei, estiver assim disposto, que ele nos indique isso.

22And if it be found that the building of the house of the Lord at Jerusalem hath been done with the consent of king Cyrus, and if our lord the king be so minded, let him signify unto us thereof.

23Então ordenou ao rei Dario que procurasse entre os registros em Babilônia: e assim em Ecbatane, o palácio, que fica no país da Média, foi encontrado um rolo onde essas coisas foram registradas.

23Then commanded king Darius to seek among the records at Babylon: and so at Ecbatane the palace, which is in the country of Media, there was found a roll wherein these things were recorded.

24No primeiro ano do reinado de Ciro, o rei Ciro ordenou que a casa do Senhor em Jerusalém fosse construída novamente, onde eles sacrificam com fogo contínuo:

24In the first year of the reign of Cyrus king Cyrus commanded that the house of the Lord at Jerusalem should be built again, where they do sacrifice with continual fire:

25Cuja altura será de sessenta côvados e a largura de sessenta côvados, com três fileiras de pedras lavradas e uma fileira de madeira nova daquele país; e as despesas serão distribuídas da casa do rei Ciro:

25Whose height shall be sixty cubits and the breadth sixty cubits, with three rows of hewn stones, and one row of new wood of that country; and the expences thereof to be given out of the house of king Cyrus:

26E que os utensílios sagrados da casa do Senhor, tanto de ouro como de prata, que Nabucodonosor tirou da casa de Jerusalém e trouxe para Babilônia, fossem restaurados à casa de Jerusalém e colocados no lugar onde estavam antes.

26And that the holy vessels of the house of the Lord, both of gold and silver, that Nabuchodonosor took out of the house at Jerusalem, and brought to Babylon, should be restored to the house at Jerusalem, and be set in the place where they were before.

27E também ordenou que Sisinnes, o governador da Síria e Fenícia, e Sathrabuzanes, e seus companheiros, e aqueles que foram nomeados governantes na Síria e Fenícia, deveriam ter o cuidado de não se intrometer no lugar, mas permitir que Zorobabel, o servo do Senhor, e governador da Judéia, e os anciãos dos judeus, construíssem a casa do Senhor naquele lugar.

27And also he commanded that Sisinnes the governor of Syria and Phenice, and Sathrabuzanes, and their companions, and those which were appointed rulers in Syria and Phenice, should be careful not to meddle with the place, but suffer Zorobabel, the servant of the Lord, and governor of Judea, and the elders of the Jews, to build the house of the Lord in that place.

28Ordenei também que ela seja reconstruída; e que procurem diligentemente ajudar os que são do cativeiro dos judeus, até que a casa do Senhor seja terminada.

28I have commanded also to have it built up whole again; and that they look diligently to help those that be of the captivity of the Jews, till the house of the Lord be finished:

29E do tributo de Celosíria e Fenícia uma porção cuidadosamente a ser dada a esses homens para os sacrifícios do Senhor, isto é, ao governador Zorobabel, para novilhos, carneiros e cordeiros;

29And out of the tribute of Celosyria and Phenice a portion carefully to be given these men for the sacrifices of the Lord, that is, to Zorobabel the governor, for bullocks, and rams, and lambs;

30E também milho, sal, vinho e azeite, e isso continuamente todos os anos, sem mais perguntas, de acordo com o que os sacerdotes que estão em Jerusalém significam ser gasto diariamente:

30And also corn, salt, wine, and oil, and that continually every year without further question, according as the priests that be in Jerusalem shall signify to be daily spent:

31Para que sejam feitas ofertas ao Deus Altíssimo pelo rei e por seus filhos, e para que orem por suas vidas.

31That offerings may be made to the most high God for the king and for his children, and that they may pray for their lives.

32E ele ordenou que todo aquele que transgredisse, sim, ou menosprezasse qualquer coisa dita ou escrita anteriormente, de sua própria casa, fosse tomada uma árvore, e ele fosse enforcado, e todos os seus bens apreendidos para o rei.

32And he commanded that whosoever should transgress, yea, or make light of any thing afore spoken or written, out of his own house should a tree be taken, and he thereon be hanged, and all his goods seized for the king.

33Portanto, o Senhor, cujo nome é invocado, destrói totalmente todo rei e nação que estende a mão para impedir ou destruir a casa do Senhor em Jerusalém.

33The Lord therefore, whose name is there called upon, utterly destroy every king and nation, that stretcheth out his hand to hinder or endamage that house of the Lord in Jerusalem.

34Eu, o rei Dario, ordenei que, de acordo com essas coisas, seja feito com diligência.

34I Darius the king have ordained that according unto these things it be done with diligence.
