1 Esdras 1

1E Josias celebrou a festa da páscoa em Jerusalém ao seu Senhor, e ofereceu a páscoa no décimo quarto dia do primeiro mês;

1And Josias held the feast of the passover in Jerusalem unto his Lord, and offered the passover the fourteenth day of the first month;

2Tendo estabelecido os sacerdotes de acordo com seus cursos diários, sendo vestidos com vestes compridas, no templo do Senhor.

2Having set the priests according to their daily courses, being arrayed in long garments, in the temple of the Lord.

3E disse aos levitas, os santos ministros de Israel, que se consagrassem ao Senhor, para porem a arca santa do Senhor na casa que o rei Salomão, filho de Davi, havia construído:

3And he spake unto the Levites, the holy ministers of Israel, that they should hallow themselves unto the Lord, to set the holy ark of the Lord in the house that king Solomon the son of David had built:

4E disse: Nunca mais levareis a arca sobre os vossos ombros; agora, pois, servi ao Senhor vosso Deus, e ministrai ao seu povo Israel, e preparai-vos segundo as vossas famílias e tribos,

4And said, Ye shall no more bear the ark upon your shoulders: now therefore serve the Lord your God, and minister unto his people Israel, and prepare you after your families and kindreds,

5Conforme Davi, rei de Israel, prescreveu, e conforme a magnificência de Salomão, seu filho, e estando no templo de acordo com a dignidade das famílias de vocês, os levitas, que ministram na presença de seus irmãos, os filhos de Israel,

5According as David the king of Israel prescribed, and according to the magnificence of Solomon his son: and standing in the temple according to the several dignity of the families of you the Levites, who minister in the presence of your brethren the children of Israel,

6Ofereçam a páscoa em ordem, preparem os sacrifícios para seus irmãos e celebrem a páscoa de acordo com o mandamento do Senhor, que foi dado a Moisés.

6Offer the passover in order, and make ready the sacrifices for your brethren, and keep the passover according to the commandment of the Lord, which was given unto Moses.

7E ao povo que se achou ali Josias deu trinta mil cordeiros e cabritos, e três mil bezerros: estas coisas foram dadas da mesada do rei, conforme ele prometeu, ao povo, aos sacerdotes e aos levitas.

7And unto the people that was found there Josias gave thirty thousand lambs and kids, and three thousand calves: these things were given of the king’s allowance, according as he promised, to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites.

8E Helkias, Zacarias e Syelus, os governadores do templo, deram aos sacerdotes para a páscoa duas mil e seiscentas ovelhas e trezentos bezerros.

8And Helkias, Zacharias, and Syelus, the governors of the temple, gave to the priests for the passover two thousand and six hundred sheep, and three hundred calves.

9Jeconias, Samaias, Natanael, seu irmão, Assabias, Oquiel e Jorão, capitães de milhares, deram aos levitas para a Páscoa cinco mil ovelhas e setecentos bezerros.

9And Jeconias, and Samaias, and Nathanael his brother, and Assabias, and Ochiel, and Joram, captains over thousands, gave to the Levites for the passover five thousand sheep, and seven hundred calves.

10E quando essas coisas foram feitas, os sacerdotes e levitas, tendo os pães ázimos, ficaram em ordem muito graciosa de acordo com as tribos,

10And when these things were done, the priests and Levites, having the unleavened bread, stood in very comely order according to the kindreds,

11E segundo as diversas dignidades dos pais, perante o povo, oferecer ao Senhor, como está escrito no livro de Moisés; e assim fizeram eles pela manhã.

11And according to the several dignities of the fathers, before the people, to offer to the Lord, as it is written in the book of Moses: and thus did they in the morning.

12E assaram a páscoa com fogo, como appertaineth: quanto aos sacrifícios, eles os encheram em panelas de latão e panelas com um bom sabor,

12And they roasted the passover with fire, as appertaineth: as for the sacrifices, they sod them in brass pots and pans with a good savour,

13E os puseram diante de todo o povo; e depois prepararam para si e para os sacerdotes, seus irmãos, os filhos de Arão.

13And set them before all the people: and afterward they prepared for themselves, and for the priests their brethren, the sons of Aaron.

14Pois os sacerdotes ofereciam a gordura até a noite; e os levitas preparavam para si, e os sacerdotes, seus irmãos, os filhos de Arão.

14For the priests offered the fat until night: and the Levites prepared for themselves, and the priests their brethren, the sons of Aaron.

15Os santos cantores também, os filhos de Asafe, estavam em sua ordem, de acordo com a nomeação de Davi, a saber, Asafe, Zacarias e Jedutum, que era da comitiva do rei.

15The holy singers also, the sons of Asaph, were in their order, according to the appointment of David, to wit, Asaph, Zacharias, and Jeduthun, who was of the king’s retinue.

16Além disso, os porteiros estavam em todas as portas; não era lícito que alguém saísse de seu serviço ordinário; pois seus irmãos os levitas prepararam para eles.

16Moreover the porters were at every gate; it was not lawful for any to go from his ordinary service: for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.

17Assim se cumpriram naquele dia as coisas que pertenciam aos sacrifícios do Senhor, para que celebrassem a páscoa,

17Thus were the things that belonged to the sacrifices of the Lord accomplished in that day, that they might hold the passover,

18E ofereçam sacrifícios sobre o altar do Senhor, de acordo com o mandamento do rei Josias.

18And offer sacrifices upon the altar of the Lord, according to the commandment of king Josias.

19Assim, os filhos de Israel que estavam presentes celebraram a páscoa naquele tempo e a festa do pão doce por sete dias.

19So the children of Israel which were present held the passover at that time, and the feast of sweet bread seven days.

20E tal páscoa não era celebrada em Israel desde o tempo do profeta Samuel.

20And such a passover was not kept in Israel since the time of the prophet Samuel.

21Sim, todos os reis de Israel não celebraram uma páscoa como Josias, e os sacerdotes, e os levitas, e os judeus, celebraram com todo o Israel que foi encontrado habitando em Jerusalém.

21Yea, all the kings of Israel held not such a passover as Josias, and the priests, and the Levites, and the Jews, held with all Israel that were found dwelling at Jerusalem.

22Foi no décimo oitavo ano do reinado de Josias que se celebrou esta páscoa.

22In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josias was this passover kept.

23E as obras ou Josias eram retos diante de seu Senhor com um coração cheio de piedade.

23And the works or Josias were upright before his Lord with an heart full of godliness.

24Quanto às coisas que aconteceram em seu tempo, foram escritas em tempos antigos, a respeito daqueles que pecaram e fizeram maldade contra o Senhor acima de todos os povos e reinos, e como o entristeceram excessivamente, de modo que as palavras do Senhor se levantaram contra Israel.

24As for the things that came to pass in his time, they were written in former times, concerning those that sinned, and did wickedly against the Lord above all people and kingdoms, and how they grieved him exceedingly, so that the words of the Lord rose up against Israel.

25Ora, depois de todos esses atos de Josias, aconteceu que Faraó, rei do Egito, veio levantar guerra em Carcâmis contra o Eufrates; e Josias saiu contra ele.

25Now after all these acts of Josias it came to pass, that Pharaoh the king of Egypt came to raise war at Carchamis upon Euphrates: and Josias went out against him.

26Mas o rei do Egito mandou dizer-lhe: Que tenho eu contigo, ó rei da Judéia?

26But the king of Egypt sent to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, O king of Judea?

27Não fui enviado da parte do Senhor Deus contra ti; porque a minha guerra está sobre o Eufrates; e agora o Senhor está comigo, sim, o Senhor está comigo apressando-me para a frente; aparta-te de mim, e não sejas contra o Senhor.

27I am not sent out from the Lord God against thee; for my war is upon Euphrates: and now the Lord is with me, yea, the Lord is with me hasting me forward: depart from me, and be not against the Lord.

28No entanto, Josias não afastou sua carruagem dele, mas comprometeu-se a lutar com ele, não em relação às palavras do profeta Jeremy faladas pela boca do Senhor:

28Howbeit Josias did not turn back his chariot from him, but undertook to fight with him, not regarding the words of the prophet Jeremy spoken by the mouth of the Lord:

29Mas entrou em batalha com ele na planície de Magiddo, e os príncipes vieram contra o rei Josias.

29But joined battle with him in the plain of Magiddo, and the princes came against king Josias.

30Então disse o rei aos seus servos: Tirai-me da peleja, porque estou muito fraco. E imediatamente seus servos o tiraram da batalha.

30Then said the king unto his servants, Carry me away out of the battle; for I am very weak. And immediately his servants took him away out of the battle.

31Então ele subiu em seu segundo carro; e sendo trazido de volta a Jerusalém morreu, e foi sepultado no sepulcro de seu pai.

31Then gat he up upon his second chariot; and being brought back to Jerusalem died, and was buried in his father’s sepulchre.

32E em toda a judiaria eles choraram por Josias, sim, o profeta Jeremias lamentou por Josias, e os principais homens com as mulheres fizeram lamentações por ele até o dia de hoje; e isso foi dado para uma ordenança a ser feita continuamente em toda a nação de Israel.

32And in all Jewry they mourned for Josias, yea, Jeremy the prophet lamented for Josias, and the chief men with the women made lamentation for him unto this day: and this was given out for an ordinance to be done continually in all the nation of Israel.

33Essas coisas estão escritas no livro das histórias dos reis de Judá, e cada um dos atos que Josias fez, e sua glória, e seu entendimento na lei do Senhor, e as coisas que ele havia feito antes, e as coisas agora recitadas, são relatadas no livro dos reis de Israel e da Judéia.

33These things are written in the book of the stories of the kings of Judah, and every one of the acts that Josias did, and his glory, and his understanding in the law of the Lord, and the things that he had done before, and the things now recited, are reported in the book of the kings of Israel and Judea.

34E o povo tomou Joacaz, filho de Josias, e o fez rei em vez de Josias, seu pai, quando ele tinha vinte e três anos.

34And the people took Joachaz the son of Josias, and made him king instead of Josias his father, when he was twenty and three years old.

35E reinou na Judéia e em Jerusalém três meses; e então o rei do Egito o depôs de reinar em Jerusalém.

35And he reigned in Judea and in Jerusalem three months: and then the king of Egypt deposed him from reigning in Jerusalem.

36E ele estabeleceu um imposto sobre a terra de cem talentos de prata e um talento de ouro.

36And he set a tax upon the land of an hundred talents of silver and one talent of gold.

37O rei do Egito também nomeou o rei Joacim, seu irmão, rei da Judéia e de Jerusalém.

37The king of Egypt also made king Joacim his brother king of Judea and Jerusalem.

38E amarrou Joacim e os nobres; mas Zaraces, seu irmão, prendeu-o e o tirou do Egito.

38And he bound Joacim and the nobles: but Zaraces his brother he apprehended, and brought him out of Egypt.

39Joacim tinha vinte e cinco anos quando foi feito rei na terra da Judéia e de Jerusalém; e fez o que era mau perante o Senhor.

39Five and twenty years old was Joacim when he was made king in the land of Judea and Jerusalem; and he did evil before the Lord.

40Portanto, contra ele subiu Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, e o amarrou com uma corrente de bronze, e o levou para a Babilônia.

40Wherefore against him Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon came up, and bound him with a chain of brass, and carried him into Babylon.

41Nabucodonosor também tomou dos vasos sagrados do Senhor, levou-os e os colocou em seu próprio templo na Babilônia.

41Nabuchodonosor also took of the holy vessels of the Lord, and carried them away, and set them in his own temple at Babylon.

42Mas as coisas que são registradas dele, e de sua impureza e impiedade, estão escritas nas crônicas dos reis.

42But those things that are recorded of him, and of his uncleaness and impiety, are written in the chronicles of the kings.

43E Joacim, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar: ele foi feito rei com dezoito anos de idade;

43And Joacim his son reigned in his stead: he was made king being eighteen years old;

44E reinou apenas três meses e dez dias em Jerusalém; e fez o que era mau perante o Senhor.

44And reigned but three months and ten days in Jerusalem; and did evil before the Lord.

45Assim, depois de um ano, Nabucodonosor enviou e fez com que ele fosse levado para Babilônia com os vasos sagrados do Senhor;

45So after a year Nabuchodonosor sent and caused him to be brought into Babylon with the holy vessels of the Lord;

46E fez Zedequias rei da Judéia e de Jerusalém, quando tinha vinte e um anos; e reinou onze anos.

46And made Zedechias king of Judea and Jerusalem, when he was one and twenty years old; and he reigned eleven years:

47E fez também o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, e não se importou com as palavras que da boca do Senhor lhe foram ditas pelo profeta Jeremias.

47And he did evil also in the sight of the Lord, and cared not for the words that were spoken unto him by the prophet Jeremy from the mouth of the Lord.

48E depois que o rei Nabucodonosor o fez jurar pelo nome do Senhor, ele se renegou e se rebelou; e endurecendo o pescoço e o coração, transgrediu as leis do Senhor Deus de Israel.

48And after that king Nabuchodonosor had made him to swear by the name of the Lord, he forswore himself, and rebelled; and hardening his neck, his heart, he transgressed the laws of the Lord God of Israel.

49Os governadores também do povo e dos sacerdotes fizeram muitas coisas contra as leis, e passaram todas as contaminações de todas as nações, e contaminaram o templo do Senhor, que foi santificado em Jerusalém.

49The governors also of the people and of the priests did many things against the laws, and passed all the pollutions of all nations, and defiled the temple of the Lord, which was sanctified in Jerusalem.

50No entanto, o Deus de seus pais enviou o seu mensageiro para chamá-los de volta, porque ele poupou a eles e ao seu tabernáculo também.

50Nevertheless the God of their fathers sent by his messenger to call them back, because he spared them and his tabernacle also.

51Mas escarneceram dos seus mensageiros; e eis que, quando o Senhor lhes falou, escarneceram dos seus profetas.

51But they had his messengers in derision; and, look, when the Lord spake unto them, they made a sport of his prophets:

52Tão longe que ele, indignado com o seu povo por sua grande impiedade, ordenou aos reis dos caldeus que subissem contra eles;

52So far forth, that he, being wroth with his people for their great ungodliness, commanded the kings of the Chaldees to come up against them;

53Que mataram seus jovens com a espada, sim, mesmo dentro do compasso de seu santo templo, e não pouparam nem o jovem, nem a criada, nem o velho, nem a criança, entre eles; pois ele entregou tudo em suas mãos.

53Who slew their young men with the sword, yea, even within the compass of their holy temple, and spared neither young man nor maid, old man nor child, among them; for he delivered all into their hands.

54E tomaram todos os utensílios sagrados do Senhor, grandes e pequenos, com os utensílios da arca de Deus e os tesouros do rei, e os levaram para Babilônia.

54And they took all the holy vessels of the Lord, both great and small, with the vessels of the ark of God, and the king’s treasures, and carried them away into Babylon.

55Quanto à casa do Senhor, queimaram-na, derrubaram os muros de Jerusalém e incendiaram as suas torres.

55As for the house of the Lord, they burnt it, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem, and set fire upon her towers:

56E quanto às suas coisas gloriosas, não cessaram até que consumiram e reduziram a nada; e o povo que não foi morto à espada, ele levou para Babilônia.

56And as for her glorious things, they never ceased till they had consumed and brought them all to nought: and the people that were not slain with the sword he carried unto Babylon:

57Que se tornaram servos dele e de seus filhos, até que os persas reinaram, para cumprir a palavra do Senhor falada pela boca de Jeremy:

57Who became servants to him and his children, till the Persians reigned, to fulfil the word of the Lord spoken by the mouth of Jeremy:

58Até que a terra tenha desfrutado seus sábados, ela descansará todo o tempo de sua desolação, até o termo completo de setenta anos.

58Until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths, the whole time of her desolation shall she rest, until the full term of seventy years.
