1Me disse: Olhe Enoque estas tabuletas celestiais, lê o que está escrito ali e assinala cada dado.

1And now my son Mathusala, I have shewn thee every sight which I saw before thee, I will relate two visions which I saw before I took a wife, and one of them is not like the other.

2Olhei as tabuletas celestiais e li tudo o que estava escrito e o compreendi tudo; li o livro de todas as ações da humanidade e de todos os filhos da carne que estão sobre a terra, até as gerações remotas.

2The first was when I learned a book, the other before I took thy mother. I saw a powerful vision,

3Em seguida benzi ao grande Senhor, Rei de Glória pela eternidade, porque tem feito todas as criaturas do universo, e elogiei ao Senhor por sua paciência e lhe benzi pelos filhos do Adão.

3And by reason of that besought the Lord.

4Então disse: Bem-aventurado o homem que mora em justiça e bondade e contra o qual não se escrito um livro de injustiça nem se encontre um o dia do julgamento.

4When I rested in the house of my grandfather Malaleel, I saw in a vision heaven purified, and taken away.

5Esses sete Santos me levaram e me colocaram sobre a terra frente ao portão de minha casa e me disseram: Dá a conhecer tudo a Matusalém seu filho; ensina a todos seus filhos que nenhum ser de carne é justo ante o Senhor, porque Ele é seu Criador.

5I fell on the earth, and when I fell, I saw the earth swallowed up in a great abyss, and mountains suspended over mountains.

6Deixaremo-lhe um ano ao lado de seu filho até que dê suas instruções, para que ensine a seu filho, escrever para eles o que viu e o ateste a todos seus filhos; logo, no segundo ano te separará deles.

6Hills were sinking upon hills, lofty trees were cut off from their roots, and were thrown, and sunk in the abyss.

7Que seu coração seja forte porque os bons anunciarão a justiça aos bons, os justos com os justos se alegrarão e se felicitarão a um ao outro.

7Therefore the word fell down in my mouth, I raised a cry, and said, The earth is destroyed. And when I had called my grandfather Malaleel, he raised me up, and said to me, Wherefore criest thou so, my son? and wherefore lamentest thou in this manner?

8Em troca o pecador morrerá com o pecador e o apóstata se afundará com o apóstata.

8And I related to him all the vision which I had seen. He said to me, It is ponderous what thou sayest, my son;

9Os que praticam a justiça morrerão por obra dos homens e serão levados por causa das ações dos malvados.

9And the vision of thy dream is powerful concerning every secret sin of the earth, for it shall be plunged into the abyss, and sink below into a great destruction.

10Nesses dias terminaram de me falar e eu retornei com minha gente, benzendo ao Senhor do universo.

10Now my son rise up, and beseech the Lord of glory, (for thou art faithful) that a remnant may remain on the earth, and that he will not destroy it all. My son all this evil upon the earth is caused by heaven, for there shall be a great destruction upon the earth.

11Then I arose, prayed, and entreated, and wrote down my prayer for the generation of the world, and I have shewed all to thee Mathusala, my son.

12—

12And I went out below, and saw the heaven and the sun going forth from the east, and every star, and the whole earth, and all which he has known from the beginning. I praised the Lord of judgment, and magnified him, because he has sent forth the sun from the windows of the east, that ascending and rising in the face of heaven, it might spring up, and go the way which for it had been appointed.
