1depois desta lei, vi outra lei, que trata sobre a pequena luminária, cujo nome é lua.

1These are the heads of the chiefs of thousands, which are over the whole creation, and over all the stars, with the four days which are added, and never separated from their place according to the exact account of the year.

2Sua circunferência é como a circunferência do céu e o carro no qual subida e a luz lhe é dada com mesura;

2And these four days are wanted, which are not reckoned in the account of the year.

3e cada mês seu nascimento e sua posta se modificam; seus dias são como os dias do sol e quando sua luz é plena, é a sétima parte da luz do sol.

3And men err concerning them, for in truth these lights want, in the place of the course of the world, one day in the first gate, one in the third gate, one in the fourth, and one in the sixth gate.

4Assim nasce: em sua primeira fase nasce do lado do oriente o trigésimo dia e na época em que ela aparece é para vós o princípio do mês sobre o trigésimo dia, simultaneamente quando o sol está na porta pela qual nasce.

4And the course of the world becomes exactly finished every three hundred and sixty-fourth state of it, for the signs;

5É visível na metade da sétima parte; toda sua circunferência está vazia sem luz, com exceção de sétimo meio, a décima quarta parte de sua luz.

5The seasons;

6E quando recebe sétimo meio de sua luz, sua luz se incrementa a metade da sétima parte dela.

6The years;

7fica com o sol e quando o sol nasce a lua nasce com ele e recebe a metade de uma sétima parte de luz e nessa noite, no começo de sua manhã, a lua se esconde com o sol e é invisível essa noite em sua décima quarta ou no sétimo meio.

7And the days Uriel shewed me, the angel whom the Lord of glory, who is for ever, appointed over all the lights of heaven;

8Ela nasce nesse momento exatamente com uma sétima parte e sai e se inclina por volta do nascimento do sol e no resto de seus dias chega a brilhar nas outras treze partes.

8In heaven, and in the world, that they might rule in the face of the sky, and appear over the earth, and become

9Conductors of the days and nights, the sun, the moon, the stars, and all the ministers of heaven, who make their revolutions with all the chariots of heaven.

10Thus Uriel shewed me twelve gates open for the circuit of the chariots of the sun in heaven, from which the rays of the sun go forth.

11—

11And from these the heat goes forth over the earth, when they are opened at their appointed seasons, they are for the winds, and the spirit of the dew, when in their seasons they are opened at the ends of heavens.

12—

12I saw twelve gates in heaven at the ends of the earth, through which the sun, moon, and stars, and all the works of heaven go forth at their rising and setting.

13—

13And many windows are open on their right and on their left side.

14—

14One window at a certain time grows very hot, so also are those gates from whence the stars go forth, according to their law, and in which they set according to their number.

15—

15I also saw the chariots of heaven running in the world above, and below these gates in which the stars turn, which never set. One of these is greater than all, and this goes round the whole world.
