1Depois voltei até onde tudo era caótico.

1Then I made a circuit to a place in which no thing was furnished.

2E lá vi algo horrível: não vi nem céu no alto nem terra firme fundamentada, a não ser um sítio informe e terrível.

2And there I saw neither the commanding work of a lofty heaven nor of a steadfast earth, but a waste place prepared and terrible. There also I saw in it seven stars of heaven bound together like great mountains, and like a flaming fire: I exclaimed, For what sort of crime have they been bound, and why have they been taken to this place. Then Uriel one of the holy angels who was with me and who conducted me, answered, Enoch, wherefore askest thou, wherefore reasonest thou with thyself, and anxiously searchest out? these are those of the stars who have transgressed the commandment of the most high God, and are here bound until the infinite number of the days of their crime be finished.

4Então perguntei: por que pecado estão encadeadas e por que motivo foram arrojadas para cá?

4Afterwards I went further to another terrible place,

5Uriel o Vigilante e o Santo que estava comigo e me guiava, disse-me: Enoque por que perguntas e te inquietas pela verdade?

5Where I saw the activity of a great flaming and glittering fire, in the middle of which there was a separation, and fiery columns struggled together to the end of the gulf, and their declivity was deep, but I was not able to discover either its measure or magnitude, and I could not perceive its origin, then I exclaimed, How terrible is this place, and how difficult to search out.

6Esta quantidade de estrelas dos céus são as que transgrediram o mandamento do Senhor e foram encadeadas aqui até que passem dez mil anos, o tempo imposto segundo seus pecados.

6Uriel, one of the holy angels who was with me, answered and said, Enoch, why art thou frightened and amazed at this terrible place, at the sight of this place of suffering, he said, This is the prison of the angels, and here they are kept for ever.

7De ali passei a outro lugar mais terrível que o anterior e vi algo horrível: havia lá um grande fogo ardendo e ondulando e o lugar tinha gretas até o abismo, cheias de colunas descendentes de fogo, mas não pude ver nem suas dimensões nem sua magnitude nem faria conjeturas.

8Então disse: Que espantoso e terrível é olhar a este lugar!

9Me respondendo, Uriel o Santo Vigilante que estava comigo, me disse: Enoque por que está tão atemorizado e espantado? Respondi-lhe: É por este lugar terrível e pelo espetáculo do sofrimento.

10E ele me disse: Este sítio é a prisão dos anjos e aqui estarão prisioneiros por sempre.
